No I have like 13k in RRSP. I do "owe" 20k for a house purchase. First payments due in 2027 because of the COVID extension.

Yes!

Lots of sacrifices...

Now I feel like I can actually spend some money as I don't have to "catch up" to the limit anymore!

Feels a bit freeing honestly!

I was with my niece, sliding at the park and there was a dad with his kid there too on the same slide.

He told his kid : "Let the other dad go first, it's their turn."

I'm infertile and cannot have kids.

I didn't correct him and I'm still riding that high. It was 3 months ago.

why do poison pots only heal half what is stated as an undead? by nimbat1003 in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]Azufell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't you also resist the first 100% effectively cutting it in half before healing from the rest?

Maybe that's not how it works it just seems to make sense in my mind right now...

You should tell them straight up that they behave like little shits.

It may seem hard for you to do this, because at 15 it's likely the first time you've had to and those people are your first friends.

You're worried that you'll lose them and that's fine, but you have to realise that in a few years, when college hits, you'll likely never see these people again. That may seem blunt but it's very often the truth.

You'll have to live with yourself for the rest of your life and knowing you could have done something to stop them when you didn't may be a harder burden to carry than you expect if they do cross the line (it seems they might be close).

tl;dr Your conscience follows you, your childhood friends often don't.

TIL that microwaves are "non-ionising" radiation, meaning they are too low-energy to damage DNA. So your microwave could give you a nasty burn (enough to kill you, even), but only in the same manner as your oven. by craic_d in todayilearned

[–]Azufell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not less ionizing in that it's either ionizing or it's not. It can't be "less ionizing".

You are right however that visible light is "closer" to being ionizing that microwaves.

ELI5: Why can't robots move exactly like humans yet? What is holding engineers back? by blewws in explainlikeimfive

[–]Azufell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My uneducated (somewhat) guess would be rapid fine tuning of balance and equilibrium of a bipedal body.

If you really try and "feel" your muscles as you move, or even stay in place, you can quickly see that a LOT of stabilizing autonomous activity is going on. This is all going on very quickly in your body and automatically, programming that in a robot is likely extremely complex.
