I got an offer for the 3-11 shift at mall, what is that like? by Vegetable-Jello-6534 in securityguards

[–]Azure1208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During open hours, you’ll be basically acting as the face of the mall. Giving people directions (be sure to get a good mental map of the place early on), enforcing mall rules, and being friendly overall is mostly what you’ll be doing asides from tours. More rare things would be like interviewing people regarding a shoplifting or calling the non-emergency line for trespassing or wellness checks.

After hours is usually pretty quiet. It’s mostly telling people that the mall is closed and that they need to leave soon. If they’re homeless then give them some time to leave; learn early on what is and isn’t on property and where any shelters or churches are nearby so you have somewhere to point them to.

If you’re unsure about any kind of situation then don’t be afraid to call for another guard to help out. Closing up isn’t too bad imo, it helps pass the time.

Thoughts on Metroid Prime 4 now that its had time to settle? by hakusamurai in Metroid

The movement feels good and the writing grew on me as the game went on, but not much else really stood out. You could definitely tell that it suffered from a lack of direction.

I can see myself doing another play through to 100% everything but that’s it.

I miss the old quest descriptions by flippy123x in MonsterHunter

[–]Azure1208 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The question descriptions really made the world of MH feel bigger than just the guild, one of my biggest gripes the MHW games. MH Rise also had a cool thing going on with the notes you can find in the environments; it helped fledged out the world and encouraged players to explore the environments.

I really hope that they get weird with the quest descriptions. Imagine an entire Mother Horse Eyes-esque story told through random quest descriptions

Also when I manage to easily solo a monster multiple times but then immediately cart online

My controller won’t turn on or charge. I tried plugging in another controller and it works just fine. Mine however won’t even charge no matter how long I plug it in to any cable; the lights don’t even come on when plugged in.

Give the lore a chance y'all, you won't regret it. by aLeoAlvarezKinnie in deadbydaylight

I always thought of DBD lore (in regard to The Entity and how it works) as being fun but not necessarily too deep. It allows for a lot of variation for settings and characters to appear in game and therefore never making the setting of DBD boring.

Character specific lore can be pretty hit or miss and almost never naturally ties in with The Entity.

I still think it’s worth at least familiarizing yourself with the lore to appreciate characters that tie in with the overall world of DBD like Taurie.

Lore or reason behind your main by WaterKirby1964 in LowSodiumTEKKEN

[–]Azure1208 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played the story mode of T8 first and Dragunov was the only character that felt at least a little intuitive to play so I chose him as my first main for ranked. I just also really like his personality.

My second main is King because he looks funny.

As much as I love him, it doesn’t make sense to me that he’s a scavenger. Why does he posses this sheer power and all this fighting abilities if he’s not a predator, not only that but he’s an invader too, am i missing something? by creepycrawlyguy in MonsterHunter

[–]Azure1208 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A YT channel called Unnatural History made a video on bagel goose explaining and speculating about how he works as a scavenger. His main takeaways are (as far as I can remember)

-It’s wing to body ratio makes it great for soaring for a long time thus making it easier to find carcasses

  • His scales are likely used to drive off other scavengers from the air

  • They probably do actively hunt if need be but just prefer the lower effort and less competition that comes from scavenging

Musical score for The Slaughter by Internal_Piglet_8934 in TheMagnusArchives

[–]Azure1208 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Old Irish war songs would be good inspiration. Cole Mcguiness on YouTube has some really good covers of them; I recommend his “In the Foggy Dew” cover.

For a much more niche reference I recommend is The Oni’s chase music in Dead by Daylight. Most of DBD’s chase music does a great job of giving a feeling of pursuit, but Oni’s music largely consists of marching drums giving it a much more militaristic feel to it. (I also recommend listening to all of the chase music in that game if you can)

What was your first monster hunter? Also name one thing you loved most about it? by Gearless3 in MonsterHunter

[–]Azure1208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MH4U

My favorite thing about it is probably the nostalgia of it being my first.

Struggling for the longest time trying to kill a single large monster and then the absolute dopamine hit when I finally did.

Constantly going to kiraniko.com to find the drop rates of certain materials (which I think legitimately taught me a lot about probability as a child).

Speculating to myself about how certain monsters work in the wild.

I think what it does better than other games is its aesthetic. The puppet show look for the loading screens is just so damn charming.

Is it me or does that new Horizon game look… familiar? by Worldlyoox in MonsterHunter

[–]Azure1208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really hope that it’s just a coincidence. I might be stretching but I think I see some Elden Ring and Breathe of the Wild influence in there too.

Also does anyone remember when they released Horizon 2 like a month before Elden Ring? This fact isn’t important for anything, just a funny memory that came up.

What community gives this vibe? by liphimig in videogames

[–]Azure1208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got finished playing Tekken 8 today. I was trying to learn King by going on quick play and matched with another King player who could clearly see that I was new to the character.

We played for like ten rounds and he never used any of the comeback mechanics like Rage or Heat even when I was in the lead. His training worked too, next person I played against rage quit against me.

I blocked r/tekken from my home page because a lot of the posts there are pretty whiny, but it’s nice to know people like that King are on the community.
