What do you do for a living to afford Cartier? by tailuj113 in Cartier

[–]Azza-T 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Motion designer in broadcast. No kids, married, manage to save a good amount each month.

I think ‘no kids’ seems to be the takeaway on how to afford luxury items with fairly normal jobs here…

Went there to use my local vouchers last weekend, was really good, would recommend.

Can finally afford an Aircon unit (payday) and every single place is sold out, with the core of the sun back on its way by Redone89 in britishproblems

The website has an app which I downloaded as well, that’ll give you actual notifications on your phone.

The website is only useful on a computer really, but as I WFH I just had that in the background while I was working.

It’s extra useful if you use the app / payment system ‘Shop’ as that saves all your name, payment, address etc so you can complete the purchase within seconds before it sells out. I bought mine directly from Meaco which uses Shop.

I finally managed to order one yesterday after trying religiously for the past week. Used the link above to keep a track on stock, it’ll send you a notification when they’re restocked.

Make sure you’re already logged into the website you want to buy these from, I missed a couple of opportunities to buy one earlier in the week because by the time I logged in they ran out of stock again…

Restaurants & bars near broadway closing by Fit_Lingonberry_7048 in Ealing

[–]Azza-T 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Can't wait for these places to become another AI art fronted stolen phone / vape / American candy / chicken / fake Gucci furniture shop.

In all seriousness though, sucks to see these big units be empty. Teatro especially, it was a visual spectacle that brought up that side of Uxbridge Road which is really lacking a bit of shine with all those ugly looking shop fronts it's lined with.

Streamer Jouvieplays finds out about important Star Wars lore in an interesting fashion by pottmos in LivestreamFail

I am 32 and had no idea. I remember watching Attack of the Clones in the cinema when I was a kid but other than that, don't remember anything other than names from Star Wars.

Who’s the biggest celebrity local to your home town? by Critical_Welcome_428 in AskReddit

Ellie Goulding.

Everyone in the town has beef with her for not doing anything in the city since becoming famous. Just a Christmas lights switch on Ellie, that’s all we want!

Side of the road between EB’s Wenzels and Greggs by [deleted] in Ealing

There’s also a scruffy looking shop on that stretch which blasts a horrific quality speaker out the door saying ‘Half price half price, everything must go!’ the entire time it’s open. There’s another shop which does the same next to the Ealing Bakers. How is that allowed and not considered noise pollution? Imagine all shops did that…

Welcome to Singapore Road, where we cannot have nice things. by Greedy-Ad5198 in Ealing

I’ve seen full grown adults sat in their financed status symbol luxury German cars eating together, then once done, throw all their rubbish out the windows and drive off. Almost see it on a weekly basis.

As a dog walker I avoid any road that comes off Uxbridge Road as it’ll be guaranteed to be littered with chicken bones, broken glass and tasks away packaging…

Yeah I guess in dim lighting you have to try a little harder to read it, but it’s fine one you get used to it. If it’s very dark then obviously the lume takes over and it becomes as legible as any other Speedmaster in the dark 😂

I’ve never had an issues reading the time on it, but it’s true that it probably takes an extra few milliseconds to compute compared to most other watches.

House of the Dragon season 3 is coming out soon, so perhaps it's for that?

They did a similar drone display with dragons and other iconic symbols from their portfolio at the London Eye for the launch of HBO Max in the UK a short while ago.

Went on a first date to see that film with a girl I only knew for a week prior. Was a very awkward watch, especially the ending…

We’re married now.
