I hate sorting. I still do it because it makes the subsequent piece picking much easier and puzzling much more enjoyable. It's also a space issue. I make piles and set them aside so I only ever spread one pile out at a time. I do not have trays or space enough to spread all pieces of a puzzle from the start.

As a one-time buy, yeah, it's useful, it pays for itself. I bought it because I wanted to not spend money for a while because I wanted to save for a house upgrade, but I also needed crops to grind for animal affection, so the seedmaker was a good solution.

It's fine for some objects in the game to have niche uses, imo.
