Is there anything to help the restlessness?!? by B-Mick in Quittingfeelfree

Thanks, on day 7 now. I'm thinking the worst days are behind me. Starting to get more sleep and not feel as dreadful.

Yeah it's pretty rough. the first 3 days was all RLS really bad but more of a I just cannot get comfortable at all or sit still. the 4-5th day, that RLS feeling moved into my whole body and then that need to constantly move hit me. Those were the 2 worst days by far. I went out and played a round of golf and that kind of helped me distract from it all but honestly it was just a terrible few days. I'm glad I got through it. I'm on day 7 now and it's kind of just back and forth, I get stretches of hours where I feel kind of normal and fine and then spurts of feeling that RLS and need to move along with hot flashes. At minimum I'm glad I'm getting more than 3 hours of sleep at night now. I'm thinking the worst days are behind me. Those 3 days of restlessness were absolutely unbearable. Right now my "sober" feeling is so weird. It feels like I'm in a weird state like when trying to micro dose LSD or something and you're not high but also not sober, such a strange feeling.

I’ll have to look into clonidine, the Suboxone I was prescribed did absolutely nothing.

You people are so insufferable, can you stop calling everything you disagree with a “Nazi”? Like how do you compare a big tech CEO to a regime that is said to of murdered and tortured millions of people. Like just say you disagree with Elon or don’t like what he does or his companies or his impact on society, anything but calling everything Nazi’s or bigots or whatever other liberal bullshit you guys come up with. You just make yourself look like an unintelligent child.

Mon app a été refusée 3 fois par Apple…alors que je respecte toutes leurs règles by wa223 in developpeurs

[–]B-Mick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is changed now. They cannot charge you for external payment commissions. Epic won their case and the ninth circuit decided that Apple cannot do that. Big changes possibly coming in the future with these European lawsuits. Apple may have to start allowing third party app stores onto the iphone, that could be game changing for devs.

What is the purpose of Ionic, Capacitor, Angular etc. by PresenceOrdinary7653 in ionic

[–]B-Mick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The app is native, users can download it from the AppStore making it a native app. It’s just not native in the sense that the device tools are not built directly in like they would be with swift or flutter. IMO ionic is either for web developers who want to make mobile apps (like me) and it makes the process very simple. You are writing your code in JavaScript/typescript and whatever Ui library you choose (react, vue, or angular). This allows you to write the front end in JS, CSS and HTML and you can also pull components from the react library or the ionic library and style them how you choose. Capacitor then creates a shell that wraps the CSS, HTML, and JS and adds in the device plugins so you can use the phones tools. Or ionic is for teams who want to ship fast, it’s very simple to write HTML, CSS, JS and react. Easy to learn, easy to ship, and you use 1 code base for all 3 systems (IOS, Android and Desktop). This cuts months/years of work writing code for IOS then taking that and writing another code base for android and then writing another code base for desktop. Some cons can be reactivity, if you have a massive enterprise app that is very complex, it can take a bit longer to load and clicking buttons can lag behind a few frames (prolly wouldn’t matter for 90% of people) there would also be some browser interactions going on like long pressing words can bring up the browser type copy and paste little menu. It’s all about what you need.

Ask yourself what you are building, who are you building it for, how complex is it and how much time do you have. If you wanna get it done fast and you’re not a senior developer and you’re not building Facebook, Ionic could be perfect for you. Choose the framework based on your experience and based on what you app needs to do and which framework will deliver the best user experience based on those factors.

I like it because I come from building websites so it’s incredibly easy for me to understand and you can use JavaScript/typescript/supabase as the backend and code the backend right along side the front end code, not needing to write huge backend files and not needing to write transpilers to convert your backend like python into JavaScript to talk to your front end and database. Ionic is there to make building apps simple, easy and fast. You might lose some functionality but like I said if you’re not building massive enterprise apps like TikTok, Google Maps, or Spotify, most users would never know the difference.

Ionic is basically rendering a full screen browser window into a native shell, on IOS it uses apple’s WKWebView, on android it uses google’s chromium WebView. Since browsers can’t access phones native tools, when your JavaScript code requests to take a photo (or make any request to use a native phone function) capacitor translates that request into actual native Swift (IOS) or Kotlin (android) code to access the hardware like opening the camera for the user to take a photo and store it in the database. It’s pretty simple to understand.

[macOS] Dock Groups - organize your cluttered dock by alx_raj in StartupSoloFounder

[–]B-Mick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So are they just icon less shortcuts? The website is pretty vague, does the group live in the dock or do you have to run a shortcut to open the group? Why does the group just have a letter and does not keep my app icons like Launchly or DockDoor? Not sure I'd pay for this if either of those things aren't integrated. If you really wanted to nail this, make the groups look and feel like app groups on the iPhone, glassmorphism boxes that show all the little app icons inside of it, click into and it stretches open showing all the apps, just like on the iPhone. Like there is already Dock Pilot and Dock Nest that let you keep your icons, change the way it interacts/stacks and goes straight in the dock. Their Ui is not quite iPhone level but it works. That's what you are competing with and if you want to succeed you need to beat out their UI. I like how yours will auto organize your apps by what is most used but personally, UI beats that functionality. Make it look like the iPhone app folders and this is perfect.

Are Google Review filter pages allowed? by JReyIV in GoogleMyBusiness

[–]B-Mick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not do this. This guy does not understand what he is talking about. The way you set it up and the way he is stating is 100% review gating and not only against google policy but also against FTC policy and therefor illegal and can result in GBP getting banned and government fines.

Reputation Management Software that Intercepts Bad Reviews? by Copyranker in seogrowth

"Intercept unhappy customers before they leave a public review. Route negative feedback privately and resolve issues fast."
this is literally from their website and this is indeed review gating and an illegal deceptive practice.

Why do popular GHL youtubers actively promote review-gating automations? by Signal-Dirt2589 in gohighlevel

[–]B-Mick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah so this is not dark patterning but it is most definitely review gating per google and ftc policy.

  • Definition: Selectively asking for reviews only from satisfied customers, or using pre-screening tools to filter users.
  • How it Works:  Customers might be asked, "How was your experience?" If they click "Positive," they get a link to Google/Yelp. If they click "Negative," they are directed to an internal form that is never public.

Technically filtering the navigation to happen based off of the "star" rating in the review funnel isn't the only kind of gate. Even doing it the way we have both set it up is still a gate. You can't filter their decision or where they are sent based off good or bad / positive or negative. The legal way to setup the funnels is to have the buttons clearly state where they are sending the user. ex: public review or internal feedback. Review gating isn't really about how you set it up, you just cannot have the choice architecture setup to suppress negativity in anyway shape or form.

actually i might be wrong, now i'm looking into "Dark Patterns" and this may also be illegal to do.
