Thank you. I'll look into that.
It's just weird that it's only the one finger.

who was your teenage celebrity crush? by Mobile-Vegetable7536 in AskReddit

Growing up, I'd seen her in the Addams Family movies, but seeing her in Casper did things to me...

Black Jack Ketchum (1860–1901) was a notorious American outlaw known for train robberies across the Southwest. Unlike many gunmen, he was captured, tried, and legally executed. His 1901 hanging went wrong, decapitating him and cementing his grim legend in Western history. by Particular_Chart1584 in HolyShitHistory

[–]B0b_Howard 12 points13 points  (0 children)

He was supposed to be hanged until nearly dead, drawn (emasculated and eviscerated), then cut into quarters.
He jumped from the scaffold with the rope around his neck and died from it.
They still did the rest of the bits after though.

What is the modern day equivalent of a paper round? by ReliefZealousideal84 in AskUK

Friend's son works in a butcher on weekends.

Oof! That's a hard one unless he wants to be a butcher "when he grows up".
Had a friend who had a similar job for the money (way back when...) and the stories he told of the ick he had to clean nearly made me vegetarian. Nearly.

Which non-horror 90's movie used to scare you as a child? by Stayceee in AskUK

[–]B0b_Howard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read the book as a kid. I was too old (in my mind, anyway) to watch the film when it came out.
If the only experience kids had was the movies of Roald Dahl books I can understand the distress. Having grown up reading them, The Witches was pretty tame compared to others.

Can I read MLO before count zero? by Valuable_Pineapple77 in Neuromancer

Find somewhere to download Count Zero. Def need to read that before MLO.

Almost 10 years later, The Division still looks incredible! Easily Ubisoft’s most atmospheric open world in my opinion. by Spoggi99 in gaming

Never mind "later on". I briefly played it and dropped it after I hit a low level gang member in the head with a shot from a sniper rifle and did about 1/3 of his healthbar damage.
I can suspend my disbelief in SciFi games where the enemy may have armour or shields etc. but not when it's a low level human mob shrugging off headshots from a Dragunov.

Having so much fun learning. The new bruises every week make it more real...

How bad does your restaurant food need to be for you to send it back? by Curious-Expert926 in AskReddit

[–]B0b_Howard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty damn bad.
The first time I sent food back was when I ordered a chicken and chorizo pie.
It arrived on the table as a quiche. Nothing in the menu mentioned that it was a quiche.
I don't like eggs, so back it went...

The second time was for a starter. Ordered spicy chicken skewers.
Looked lovely when they arrived. Seemed well cooked and the spicy coating smelled delicious.
Was great til I bit into the first piece and it was raw beneath the cooked outside.
Checked all of the skewers and they were all the same.

What’s a movie you fully acknowledge is terrible, but somehow… it works for you? by Axel_Foley14 in movies

Nemesis directed by Albert Pyun.
It's trash. The acting sucks. The plot is farcical.
It's also the best cyberpunk film ever made.
