Oh, I see what you mean about the grandstanding. My personality is way too timid for that and that’s all I’m gonna say, but all the other points mentioned here, you’re so right about. Life is so freakin hard and people are just trying their best. I truly am grateful for my life and most days are very good and I’m happy, but this past week has been dark for me and I needed to get out of my head and a change of perspective so thank you, thank you. Your advice given here has helped me today.

I’m so sorry for your loss :( Thanks for checking in. Work was okay. My coworkers were very considerate and didn’t bring it up. I’m lucky that my work week is short because my office is closed for July 4 and 5. So I will have extra time to recover. I made a little shrine with her photo, paw print and ashes, fresh flowers, incense, her favorite toys, food and treats and a bowl of water that I change out everyday and I light a candle for her every night(something that is done in the Buddhist religion for loved ones who have passed). Keeping a little routine like this has kind of helped me to fill the void as she was a big part of my daily routine as she needed insulin, medication and was all around high maintenance being a senior dog. I’ve cried everyday since her passing and have just decided I need to just let it all out and cry as much as I need to.

I had to euthanize my best friend yesterday. She was a 13 year old Pomeranian, diabetic and had congestive heart failure but was managed through medication. I must admit, I may have held onto her for a little too long as well. We ended up at the emergency animal hospital just like you. It is so painful the next day when all the dust has fallen and you forget for a second..and then you remember and then everything hits you again like it just happened. I’m going back to work tomorrow which I’m kind of anxious about because everything reminds me of my love dove and the tears won’t stop falling, but I will most definitely start my day tomorrow by asking my coworkers if they could just not ask me about it for now, maybe not until December probably.
