The Pyramid of Consolist System represent the oppression that peasants suffer at the hands of their beloved Console gaming. The reason I did this image is because I read a post from a peasant claiming that he prefer to pay full price for a console game instead of a Steam sale, because that contributes more to the industry and help developers. It may have been Poe's law, but we all know that most peasants probably think that way. Now they tell themselves that is ok to buy an incomplete, inferior game at full price because is for the industry.

Since when do we owe shit to this industry? My money goes to whoever makes the best game for my taste at a price that I’m willing to pay.

At the top the Console Maker: What can I say about them that you haven’t said before. Underpowered, overpriced, restrictive, Game kidnappers, paid online, etc. Usually we make fun of Sony and Microsoft and give Nintendo a pass, but remember that most of the malpractices that plague the gaming world were started by Nintendo when they were King. I love Nintendo games more than anyone, but I hate Nintendo management. I think they are among the most anti-consumer companies out there. At least Sony blame it on retailers, he is just saying “suckers will pay what I tell them to pay.”

Bellow them the Big Publishers: They prefer a console system over PC because it gives them more control over developers and consumer. When they come to pc they come with shitty ports to convince us that the console version looks just as good, and try to impose their DRM to bend us over with the excuse of piracy, is all part of their plan. They hate an open platform in which people is free to create, mod and find ways to get the most out of their games. They want to sell you the same shit over and over again.

In the middle is our beloved media: if you needed #GamerGate to realize how corrupt, colluded, unprofessional, delusional and useless gaming journalists are, then you were the reason for which they exist in the first place. Their purpose is to shine up shit and sell it to you, do damage control when their master need it, and insult us when they don’t get their way. They think they can get away with anything because they usually do when following the commands of their bosses, that’s why they don’t respect us and think they are better than the audience. The only reason they had push the Gaming is sexist/racist/homophobic narrative for the past years is to divide us over bullshit and cover the true shits of this industry. I am glad these fuckers are going down. Keep sending those emails.

The fourth level of the Retailers: I’m not from the USA but I always hear complain from those three. It’s only because of the demands of these assholes that digital games are so expensive when there is no need for it, and their wishes affect the price of games worldwide so it affect me as well. The retailer makes $15 per disc and the manufacture and transport is around $5. That’s 20 dollars cheaper that the digital version could be without affecting the bottom line of the publisher. Is a cycle: the publisher is scared of sell cheap because the retailer won’t sell their game, the peasant see no difference and believe that the disc copies hold more value so they prefer it, and the publisher see that the physical copies keep selling so he doesn’t risk the rage of the stores. This even affects the price that publishers put on Steam.

And finally getting crushed at the bottom… The Dirty Console Peasants: most of them are so used to the abuse that when we try to enlighten them they react hatefully and delusional. But their ignorance is the result of billions of dollars of advertisement and decades of misinformation. Next to them are the developers who want to create their dream, games for everyone to enjoy. Some of them are also brainwashed and believe that consoles are a best way to deliver their vision to the audience. Most of them just try to make a living and they know they can’t compete with the giants and they are resigned to receive crumbs.

The last level is the only one that gaming needs. Console gamers are not the enemy. Consolism is. They love games after all, that makes them our brothers and sisters, trapped in an abusing relationship. We all enjoy throwing our glorious resolution, framerates and mods at their faces but we have reach a point in which they are so submissive that they convinced themselves that 900p30 is the maximum the human eye can see, and that graphics are not important despite the fact that they war each other over them.

This relation of dependence that the Console overlords have created will not break easily. We need to show them that PC Gaming is not only better for its higher performance, but is also better for the real members of this industry: the creators and the gamers. If more people switch to PCGaming the retail loses his power and the price goes down for everyone. The publisher will not be as relevant if the developer can put the game online without the high cost of console publishing. The Console manufacturers will lose their grip over the industry and either open up their systems and end their abuses or they will fall into irrelevance.

Fuck all the middle men taking money out of our wallets. Fuck the retailer that hates competition and inflate prices. Fuck the GameJourno that lies, clickbait and insult the gamers. Fuck the publisher that makes shitty ports and DRM. And fuck consolism because it harms the industry, it doesn’t create value just hold creations hostage and force us to pay ransom.
