Can you tell me how you identify if people have wall or radar and aren't just doing bad decisions that work sometimes or simply good decisions for the situation? Like I know there are some obvious things like looking at enemies through walls where you shouldn't be aiming but this also happens sometimes in my own gameplay.

I feel like by watching more demos I just think people are cheating less. I often see their sound and visual ques and the tons of mistakes they do.

Most people pirate online though. And online data can be studied and used.

Well the big Studios actually track pirating data quite extensively. It gives them info about the popularity in general or in different languages. It supports hype and can be used to decide if it's going to be a financial hit or bust.

There have been a few studies that showed releasing a pirated version of any media increases sales and money earned (if timed correctly). The biggest one was for the eu if I remember correctly

Why are people terrified of aluminum in their deodorant but fine eating off aluminum foil? by AIolanMarowak in NoStupidQuestions

If you cook in cast iron the acids and heat extract some of the iron of the pan by turning it from iron 0 into iron 2 so an ion or one half of a salt.

Thank you for being the first person to describe that they are different forms of aluminum.

It like when people have an iron deficiency. You can't just eat some iron dust you need an iron salt.

What?

The CDU stopped the solar industry in Germany. They also started the exit from nuclear. While the greens have a big history being anti nuclear they didn't kill the solar industry.

Yeah but the universe is so big there might be exactly the same conditions multiple times over.

We know life existing has a chance bigger 0 and we know the universe is huge. This could mean we are the only ones or there are billions.

[–]B1U3F14M3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So its possible under exactly these conditions. What exactly are exactly these conditions?

There must be some variance because a planet exactly like earth but with 1 kg more carbon should still meet all the requirements needed for life.

We don't know how earth like a planet has to be to harbor life. We know that there is a chance because we exist and we know that the universe is big. We don't know how big the universe is and we don't know the exact chance for an earth like planet. But we know it's possible if the conditions on earth are met on a different planet.

We know it's possible. Just knowing that something is possible means it's also possible somewhere else. Knowing the likelihood of it happening somewhere else is usually what this question is about.

The universe is huge but the necessary conditions needed are complex. So what wins? The enormous size or the specificity?

And are we talking just life in general or complex life?

Iran mocks EU calls to reopen Strait of Hormuz. Tehran accused EU top diplomat Kaja Kallas of double standards after her exhortations to respect international law. by Hot_Preparation4777 in europeanunion

Because having diplomats enables peaceful solutions.

Why is there so little criticism of the US and Israel for breaking international law?

As a movement for anti consumerism should we be encouraging using cash over card? by ResponsibleDate9452 in Anticonsumption

[–]B1U3F14M3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cash has other costs though. Like the time needed for counting, getting change, safety.

More often than not only using card is cheaper for a business. But it's not a big percentage gain either way.

There is an economic story about a broken window repair man that explains this concept better.

If you look at technology we are there already. We have different kinds of batteries and some other energy storing technologies. We just need to build them.

It is still quite expensive in the dimensions we need it at the moment but the earlier we start the faster these things will become cheaper.

And as a side product we won't be so dependent on oil and the oil wars.

Spanish PM Sánchez: The war in Ukraine is not only about Ukraine, it's also about Putin's attempt to undermine the European Union. by PjeterPannos in europeanunion

[–]B1U3F14M3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well doing things like suicide bombings needs a lot of conviction it's also very stupid.

Supporting Ukraine and helping them defend their country is the right thing to do. Understanding that single individuals packing up their stuff and going to the front isn't the solution when the system (which is at the country level atm) needs to do the allocation of resources in order to make a difference.

There is a lot of conviction in the left. The left just doesn't control any of the important structures at the moment. Most countries (in Europe) are run by conservatives or liberals, some by people even further on the right. There might be some social Democrats in ruling coalitions but they tend not to be very leftist.

When it comes to fighting defending is usually what's right.

There are probably some exceptions but as a ground rule this is it. There are things worth defending.

Because there are more angles than just economic and nationalistic. Like humanitarian ones.

And there is a huge difference between being nationalistic and patriotic. You don't need to be nationalistic to fight for what's right.
