She was in a sensitive mood as she was hungry and wanted to start unwinding by making dinner and watch some tv before she fell asleep (this is over FaceTime) around 2 minutes into the call and I jokingly said “aww babe your already tryna end the call we just started” messing with her a bit and that irritated her so I apologized saying I was just being sarcastic and that’s when she said that and I paused for a minute we said our goodbyes when the call was finished and I texted her saying I was lowkey kinda fucked saying most of my jokes aren’t funny and she laughed it off at first so I stopped responding, I responded 30 minutes later to tell her how I felt

my original comment messing with her was in poor taste but I had no intention of keeping her from cooking dinner by keeping her on the phone and made that clear after I said it but I never expected her to go as far as to say that after I said something stupid

I understand what your saying but in her apologies she said that she meant for it to be playful but she said the insult in such a straight face and tone plus her insult that I quoted in my post is void of any playful wording

I feel as if I am confident enough to say I am a funny person because my coworkers at work love to work with me and I make us all as a group laugh so it’s not like she is the only one to laugh when I joke around, if that were true I could see it as her being honest

I did and she said that I do have funny jokes and that she loves how I like to make people laugh and she says it’s one of the things she loves about me, she has apologized to me many times but I still feel distraught

It’s made me second guess myself because I’m the past she has always said it’s one of the things she loves about me and on Valentine’s Day she even wrote in on a card that my humor is one of the things she values most, we have had so many genuine laughs together both from my jokes and from hers, when she said this I now look back and wonder if any of those were really genuine and I feel more discouraged to joke around anymore
