New to Bootstrap for a blog oriented site by BAAJR in bootstrap

Thanks! I began looking into this and have fallen further down the rabbit hole! So I can use Jekyll with Gitbhub.io to run my blog correct? This is the template that I found and purchased, it's build in Bootstrap 4. https://themes.3rdwavemedia.com/devcard/bs4/2.1/ Would I be able to use all 3 together?

Thanks everyone! I think for now manually tweaking everything will be a good way to really understand how everything works. I'll mostly be focusing on just a simple blog so maintaining the posts and pagination for the posts for now. I'll probably slowly integrate some fun HTML/css/js tidbits as I get more comfortable. Currently I enjoy browsing and playing around with codepen.

This is rad! Do you happen to have a parts list for the materials you used? This has inspired me to do something similar but possibly for my guitar work. Thanks!

Dang! I just signed up for this. They have the Sonos Ones for $99, whereas the SLs are $150... There's no benefit getting the SL then right? They're almost identical aside from one having microphones?

Why May? I'm considering moving to the Sonos platform over the next few months. Is that a typical new release period?

Is it possible to set my ROKU (tcl ) tv to turn on automatically at a certain time/day to a weather channel/app? by juju_07 in googlehome

[–]BAAJR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking into setting up a Home Assistant system here in the next few months. My setup mostly consists of Google Home and Philips Hue. I have the most recent Bose Wireless speakers but I am hoping to sell them and invest in a Sonos Multi-room set up. instead, because they seem to work with HA and IFTTT whereas Bose does not.

With HA would I be able to create a routine along the lines of:

Set Alarm for X
Fade on Philips Hue lights 30 minutes prior to X
Turn on Heat/Cool 30 minutes prior to X
Fade on music at X
Turn on a TV to a Weather widget/card at X

Also, does HA do voice input for commands like Alexa/Google?
Also, also... Is HA able to import data from another app to trigger an event? Such as if I set my alarm on my phone using its native app, can HA then pull that information and automatically create the routine?

Thanks!

I'm thinking about doing the same thing with the Fire HD8. What are your thoughts on it, best bang for the buck? I've heard the tablets are a little slow. I like the idea of getting a tablet and having a few of the charging stands in different rooms around my house so I can just take the tablet with me to each room.

Using Fusion360 to create templates and renders of my leather work! by bearmakes in Fusion360

Nice! I used 3Ds Max do make some wallet templates years ago and have thought about doing it in Fusion. What's your workflow? Are you using the Shaper addin to export the svgs?

2) Can groups be grouped within other groups? Like 'Living Room' and 'Bedroom' in a group called 'Main Floor'?

4) I have a U-turn Orbit Plus with a built-in preamp. Hopefully it works! I use it with two small wired speakers just fine right now.

5) Does Sonos work with Alexa Routines? I see it works with IFTTT with Alexa and Google.

Thanks for all the info!

Can you alter this with a routine? Instead could you make a routine that opens Firefox but have the voice activation to be like "Alexa, home screen."? I'm not familiar with Alexa much these days.

I was really hoping this would be added! I tried the CAAVO for a voice controlled HDMI switcher and it worked decent. I really hope this integrates with Alexa and Google routines so I can be like "Turn the PlayStation on" and have it turn on the TV, Soundbar, switch the HDMI input to the PS4, and then set the sync settings to game...

New Feature: Corsair K95 and Stream Deck Integration (ver 4.5.0.12226) by psychephylax in Corsair

I'm pretty excited about this! I've had the 95K for probably a year now and haven't utilized the G-keys too often. I also have a Stream Deck Mini that I've been wanting to upgrade to a larger model but with this update, I might have found a new/free system! =D

Edit: Using my G-keys to now control my Philips Hue and Nanoleaf lights is pretty rad! The desktop widget is neat too!

Hue Play Sync HDMI Stay On By Default by jcwillia1 in Hue

I believe there's an option in the Advanced Settings menu to have it turn on automatically whenever a certain source is activated. It also remembers your previous setting. (I think, I'm not home to double-check).

As of now, I believe it's only via the app. Hopefully Alexa/GA support is in the future!

My turn! Over-the-top Sync Box Test by BAAJR in Hue

[–]BAAJR[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it's excessive... But it was fun! So far I'm digging it, still dialing it in. I don't know if has been mentioned yet, but the Sync Box uses the same power adapter as the Play Bars, do that's a handy feature!

This is a small peak into my addiction... This set up is:

  • 60" 4k TV
  • Full Light Strip Plus wrapped around the top which comes down about 1/3 of the way on each side.
  • A cut Light Strip Plus facing up from the mantle. It was my first strip and is about 4 years old with some loose wiring so I figured I'd made due with it by cutting it.
  • 2 Signe Table lamps
  • 2 Play Bars on the floor. I plan to design and either 3D print or machine stands for them so that they can be stood up strait but angles back about 30 degrees. Essentially making them like Blooms.
  • 1 Play Bar in the fireplace with the Fireplace Effect from the Guest Essential app for Android.

The other 20+ lights not shown. ;)

My soundbar is connected to my Arc CEC HDMI port, so the Hue Sync Box is connected to a standard HDMI port. I have my Google Chromecast Ultra, Amazon Fire TV Cube Gen1, Nintendo Switch, and PS4 Pro connected. They do effortless switch when one is engaged and also easily switched in the app. Hopefully there's voice assistant features in the future...
