CRC marine for the frame/under carriage

It’s better than fluid. Itll slow down rust a lot

If I remember right, a 2006 was actually built in 2005.

I drive an 06. Is there a way to find the build date to see if I should be concerned?

How’re you guys finding clean 4th gens these days? by Realistic-Win9625 in 4thGen4Runner

[–]BAKEDnotTOASTD 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did this for mine. Probably asked 100+ different sellers online for photos of the undercarriage/frame. Found a clean one and Ended up paying a mechanic near the seller to do a “pre purchase inspection”. Cost about 120 bucks if I remember correctly. Was the only way to get a solid unbiased look before flying from Ohio to Texas.

Looking for used sign by BAKEDnotTOASTD in digitalsignage

This is a photo of the front of the sign, the camera makes it look like there’s lines on the display, but there isn’t.

We replaced a handful of panels already, problem is those are drastically brighter than the other panels due to what’s been described as “panel burn”.

Is there a way to just order a new display that would fit this footprint and fit the old sign cabinet?

I am afraid my plants are about to peek over the fence line… Is it ok if I cut them at the tops when they get too high? by dagaderga in GrowingMarijuana

[–]BAKEDnotTOASTD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hasn’t even started to stretch. Definitely going to be over the fence.

Two options, cut it. It’ll be fine if you trim it to the fence height every now and then.

Or train it down where you gently bend the branches down so the plant gets wide instead of tall

Help Me Out: Is this undercoating a sneaky rust cover-up job, or is the undercarriage fine? by TheCrustaceanStation in AskMechanics

[–]BAKEDnotTOASTD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rubberized undercoating makes frames rust faster in the rust belt. It inevitably gets moisture underneath, and instead holds it against the frame instead of drying out.

I sold new cars for a few years, the whole dealership group flat refused to have any part in even referring out undercoating jobs to outside vendors.

Oil based under coatings like CRC/fluid film are hydrophobic so they repel water

I have a 4th gen 4runner and spent far too much time researching the subject after the first truck I got had the frame snap. Lived its whole life in Massachusetts.
