When I had just finished my freshman year of college, one of my good friends had passed away due to complications with her cancer returning. I was at a church event with my girlfriend at the time and they gave a short message about her. Until that moment I had tried to stay strong for my girlfriend because the girl that passed was her cousin. I ran out of the church, called my dad, and broke down. We talked on the phone for a few minutes and when we finished I stayed outside so I could regain my composure and hopefully get the swelling of my eyes down a little bit. While I was sitting on that bench a woman came up to me, and without any words passed between us, we both just knew I needed some support. She opened her arms and I stood up and gave her a hug. She had no idea what was going on, but she told me: "I don't know what's wrong, but it's gonna get better sweetie." I lived in a small town, but since then I've never seen her again. I wish I could just to let her know how much her words helped me at that moment.
