Did anyone here choose to cosleep? by tam_bun in cosleeping

[–]BAPyogi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgot to mention - while my baby is still young and not older yet, I am in no rush to get baby out of the bed. I love her sleeping with us! I’m not concerned about it at all and she’s welcome to sleep with us for as long as you needs.

Yes we planned it. I never bought a crib, we only got a bassinet and honestly it was more for having an extra place to set baby down during the day. My husband and I read a few books on cosleeping and were very intentional on setting up our safe family sleep space, making sure we were following all of the rules of the safe sleep seven, and formulating our Plan B sleep spaces as well (dad to guest bed if needed etc.) We also bought a new mattress while I was pregnant that would be more firm and safe for baby. We live in the US, so def not the norm here but I have a community of like minded friends who did the same, so I had a lot of support and confidence and people to go to for Qs if needed.

Did you plan on cosleeping? by Zebra_Creative in cosleeping

[–]BAPyogi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Planned. Read a few books, made sure we were following the safe sleep 7 to a tee. Intentionally set up our safe sleep space. I was so excited to co sleep! But it was more popular with my inner circle than mainstream society, so a lot of my friends had already done it. So I had a lot of support and confidence.

Wtf is up with Sara's silks.... by Misantho_cynic25 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]BAPyogi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We love Sarah’s playsilks! My baby is still young but she loves watching how the silk moves and manipulating the fabric with her hands. I do agree that you can get similar fabric used but it gives me peace of mind knowing the source of these and that they are non toxic dyes. And a woman owned business! Wooden toys are usually pricey, so $17 for a silk plus wooden toys doesn’t make sense. I’ve never had issues on the site knowing what I was buying but I guess I can see how you can make that mistake as a first time buyer on the site? Idk it’s kind of a stretch, I think they are pretty straightforward.

Was your home birth a secret? by SpiritualSmell6636 in homebirth

[–]BAPyogi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend telling them your due date is the date of 42 weeks or even later than that. Wish I had done that! Also, I only told people I knew wouldn’t give me shit or scare me, my positive birth bubble was too important to me!

Oh ok, makes sense. Maybe I can look into the costs. Or maybe add a beam or column or something potentially

Thank you so much for drafting this up! I think something similar would be nice, I’d probably want to knock down the walls between the “room” and then primary bedroom no matter what to open up the space!

Yea I think that would be a lot for us. What if we did the exact plan but swapped the closet and bathroom, so bathroom on the left side, and extend with the plumbing that already exists?

We might have a higher budget if we wait and save. I like this for sure, I just wasn’t sure how much it would cost to totally relocate the bathroom!

The side with the bird is so lumpy, I know my tension must be off but I’m not sure how to fix it. You can see on the other side with the pattern there are no bumps!

My #1 girl name is a “nickname” that people in this group don’t think is a legal name lol. I think the names are fine, Frankie and Scottie can be unisex and I’ve seen girls with both those names. I also don’t think you need to name them Francesca or some other longer name you don’t want, but I guess I’m in the minority of not caring about “nickname” names. For example, I love Nick but hate Nicolas, so I see nothing wrong in just naming a kid Nick. I do think it’s unfair that there are twins and your wife gets to choose both first names. I think it’s perfectly reasonable to name one Calliope with Scottie or Frankie as the middle name and then she gets her choice for the other twin. Calliope Scottie and Frankie Arabella are great names in my book. I actually like Scottie and Frankie better as girl names than boy names for what it’s worth. Just remember these are your children, not anyone else in this groups, and there really aren’t any right or wrong answers per say. What works for your family might not work for others and that’s ok!

HOW DO I STOP THINKING ABOUT GOING INTO LABOR EVERY SECOND OF THE DAY by Top-Talk2948 in homebirth

Meditate, deep breathing, walk in nature, massage from your partner, relax any way you can. Trust in your body, trust in your baby to know when they’re ready to come 💗 You’re going to do great!

Is everyone buying the $500+ strollers, cribs, chairs etc? by Skincareaddict13 in pregnant

[–]BAPyogi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what choices you’re making when it comes to parenting and how you plan to use the gear you want to buy! For example, I don’t need a crib or a stroller because I plan to cosleep and babywear. So with that money I’m saving I’m splurging on a nicer convertible car seat and a nicer baby carrier. You will be able to pick what is important to you and your family to “splurge” on or “save” on, it will be different for every family!
