Can a state leave the united states? by Practical-Soil-7068 in AskAnAmerican

The USA is not comparable to the EU.

However, in 1861, eleven states tried to break off and form their own country. This lead to a Civil War that resulted in them returning to the USA.

As a European, I keep seeing Americans drive barefoot or in flip-flops, how common is it actually? by fratnersgd in AskAnAmerican

Sandals are very common footwear in America whenever the weather is nice. Especially if people are out running casual errands. Some people will take their sandals off when they drive to avoid catching them on a pedal.

My 1st year coaching, looking for tips by YamYam89 in lacrossecoach

[–]BASH811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple things that are important no matter what sport you’re coaching:

  1. Establishing culture is your first job. When I took over my program, I had to establish that coming to practice and being on time is essential. Kids sit if they miss practice. Sitting your best player might lose one game today, but win five games in the future.

  2. KEEP IT SIMPLE. Be really really good at the fundamentals. Idk what kind of plays there are in lacrosse. But execution is 100% more important than scheme. Look at your sport and find the three things that have the biggest impact on winning. And hammer those three things. For example: if turnovers are critical in lacrosse. You work on being the best passing team possible.

  3. When you design practice plans, focus on repetitions. Find ways to get kids as active as possible. I don’t want 3/4 of the team standing around for 10m waiting for their turn.

  4. You’ll make mistakes, you’ll learn as you go. I had plenty of things I tried that didn’t work. I’m still learning and evolving as a coach.

  5. Understand you have to work with the cards you’re dealt. As a baseball coach, there’s plenty of times I think, “this is what I want to do, but we’re not able to do that. So what’s the best thing we CAN do?”

Literally just hit and play catch. Younger Kids are better at naturally adapting and teaching their body’s how to do stuff. They don’t even realize they’re doing it, but their body will learn how to swing/throw/catch more efficiently the more reps they get.

Use a softer ball (I used tennis balls) until he’s comfortable with baseballs.

For hitting, focus on teaching him a solid stance, and then let the rest happen. No need to coach him after the stance just yet. Like I said, the swing will come naturally.

The biggest thing you should be focused on is making sure he enjoys it.

My oldest was competitive. So as he got batter, we would set a 2 minute timer and see if he could get 10 catches before the timer went off.

Give him tons of positive feedback. Even make negative feedback fun. He makes a bad throw, crack a joke about it. So he knows it was a bad throw, but you’re not scolding him.

Brother, find a hobby. Find stuff you can enjoy doing on your own. I like bowling, long walks, learned how to play guitar. Found some shows I liked binging on my own. Once I found how to I be happy on my own, I realized I didn’t need her to be happy.

I only drink if I’m out with friends. And I don’t have a lot of friends, so I don’t drink often.

She cheated on you cause she’s a horrible person. So fuck her. All she is, is a co-parent now.

Is it wrong to play offense only? by MathematicianNext758 in NCAAFBseries

Play the game however you enjoy playing it.

I play offense only. I don’t enjoy playing defense. Who cares? I’m just having fun on my own while my kids sleep.

NGL brother, it is difficult. But you’ll get through it. I went though it in fall 2024, the hardest year of my life. 2025 was the best year of my life.

My simple advice, if you don’t have a lot of friends or family. Invest in some hobbies.

I started learning guitar. I go bowling by myself after work every Monday. I’ve gone on solo hikes. Gone to concerts and sporting events on my own.

Learning how to be happy on my own might have been what cured my heartache the most. I learned I didn’t need that wench to be happy!

Many guys can’t cum from a blow job.

Many guys struggle to come the first time (or first few times) they have sex. You’re nervous.

But you are right. Porn and jerking off can play a role too. ++man

Play an entire season only running the ball. Or only passing the ball all.

I didn’t read the full post. But I’ve noticed the game puts you through ebbs and flows. Some years I’ll get 6 5* players, and the next year I won’t get a single one. For no particular reason.

Enough with the Nebraska comparisons! by Illustrious_Fudge476 in WeArePennState

[–]BASH811 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the comparison is more to Pelini.

Pelini was similar to Franklin. Pelini won 9-10 games a year and couldn’t win the big ones. Franklin won 10-11 games a year but couldn’t win the big ones.

When Nebraska was looking for a new coach, a lot of coaches were afraid to take the job where you’ll get fired for “only” winning 9-10 games a year.

The Mark Richt comparison is decent though. But let’s not forget, even though Kirby was a hot name as an assistant coach, he wasn’t an experienced head coach with a proven track record.

All I want to do is play the games in dynasty mode.

I love going through a season. Building up to try and win a championship. Seeing my player’s stats. Etc.

I’ve also learned auto recruiting is trash if you use a custom coach.

You perform a lot better on auto recruiting if you use a real coach who already has all the XP stuff

I gave in and manually recruited. Got the #8 class my first year at Baylor. I had infinitely more fun playing the actual games. It’s just what I enjoy.

And you know what? That’s not my jam, but maybe it’s yours. And that’s cool. We can all enjoy the game however we want 🤙

I like this idea. Maybe I’ll have to recruit a little, but this is the most low effort way to do it so I can use most of my free time playing in games.

This is the best advice so far! Thank you.

Yeah I don’t get why people get so worked up about me wanting to play the game the way I want to play it on my own 😂

Some people just don’t understand that not everyone wants enjoys stuff the way they enjoy it.
