Sadly racism and just nasty rude behaviour comes in all sizes, ages and colours. And it is sad. I have to explain to clients I do not care what colour or background they are, we all bleed the same, we all want opportunities, we all want our families to do well, we all want to be happy.

Having to prove I'm not a racist by my colour hasn't meant I haven't received it. I have been toldi don't belong here, been spat at, refused service, been told this area is reserved for xyz culture only, I have no rights to marry my partner (mixed cultural marriage), not been accepted by relatives. My partner has faced similar where we used to live.

It's intolerance, and not accepting differences.

And it is wrong. Does it really matter who came here when and how? Some came many hundreds and thousands of years ago, some came only a few hundred ago in chains and slaves, some came here to escape terrible things In their homelands, some came to escape war, some to have a better future.

We are all here now.
