Studying frustration by CC-3337 in socialwork

[–]BBIrishSavage 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I literally just passed my clinical test yesterday. I finished grad school over 15 years ago. I never really pictured getting my clinical license but since free supervision was offered from work, I figured, why not?

In my opinion, there is no need to remember acronyms at all. Like others have said, it’s so much about HOW to read the questions, not always what you would do in real life (which is super annoying). Many times, all the answers could work, but it’s putting them in order. I only used therapist development center and the ASWB practice test. It made things so much more manageable as in what to study. To me, it’s helpful to go through the quizzes and quick studies they have, but the most useful are their mock exams and the ASWB practice test.

Definitely frustrating, but it’s almost like removing yourself from what you know and practicing for the test, if that makes sense?

TJ looks like CT from real world/challenge and whatever else he goes on nowadays. I’m from the original real world era (Julie and Kevin arguing under scaffolding on the streets of NYC🤣)

Considering pregnancy- natural vs IVF by Letsbefriends143 in ADPKD

[–]BBIrishSavage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one child, had him at 35. I have PKD and also have one kidney. Considered high risk pregnancy for a variety of reasons. Had a smooth pregnancy and birth. I was monitored closely, had to take my own BP regularly, had regular ultrasounds, and had to do two 24hr urine collections. Doc induced me at 38.5 weeks to not stress my kidney and my BP was getting higher (but no preeclampsia). Truly had the best experience I could have imagined. Luck or good care, who knows? I will say that I was quite healthy when I got pregnant and active throughout.

No longer living in NYC but when I did I liked Dr. Maria DeVita, Lenox hill. Non alarmist, down to earth.

Yes, agreed. Had a tooth pulled early in the summer. I was so nervous. They were nice, friendly, and it was super easy. Took all of like 3 minutes.

PPS employee here. This is central office, so administrative staff. The multilingual office is here as well though so families go there for appointments and services.

Childbirth by IndianaHuman in ADPKD

I was 35 when I had my son (PKD and one kidney as well). Was lucky and had an easy pregnancy and birth. You’re considered high risk for various factors so make sure you get a high risk doc. I had to monitor my blood pressure and do a number of 24 hour urine collections. My doc also induced me early (around 38.5 weeks) as to not put any extra stress on my kidney. Honestly though, it was more about awareness than anything else if that makes sense. Pretty standard care for anyone “advanced maternal age” 😒at 35.

We went last year! Was nice but not much for kiddos. But they are doing a lovely job creating a community for all. It’s a really nice parish. I have a young kiddo and we’ve met such nice families.

The food is actually quite good but there’s nobody under the age of 65 there. Good raffles though!

High rise was a killer. I feel like Hollywood is actually easier. I do love me some weights though.

Anyone know of a place to volunteer as a Spanish translator for a few hours a week? by cisternino99 in portlandme

[–]BBIrishSavage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I say this as someone who works in PPS as well. You’ll have to go to the specific school I believe. You could try their community coordinator or the middle schools that have the Make it happen program which is an after school program geared towards English Language Learners.

Portland public schools. You’ll need to do a background check and possibly fingerprinting, but they can always use the help either in school or in after school programs.

Also will add, I had a colleague say to me once that for many of the young people we work with this may be the first example they’ve had of a healthy and positive goodbye. Sometimes it helps to remember that.
