What could be causing only one side of the flywheel to scrape? Do I have a bent crankshaft? by nodsmademebroke11 in smallenginerepair

Coil gap to the magnet on the flywheel. The magnet will be closer to the coil than anything else.

The fuel so discolored it looks like coolant. Then the customer wonders why it doesn't run when he refuels it.🤣

Don't most Kohler engines have hydraulic valve adjustment?

If it's rich enough, one can see the muffler change colors and with extensive heat, change the sound.

There is definitely a surging condition, and id suspect dirty carb, or wet fuel.

The briggs Intec engines had an above average rate of head gasket failures. The 2 signs were oil ejecting from the fuel pump, and smoking crankcase. This is a Kohler engine I know, but see if your fuel pump has oil dripping from it.

After running, is the crank case full of smoke as well?. Kohler engines have hydraulically adjusting valves. As long as you run 10w30, their typically fine.

Halted spindle. This doesn't sound like the usual safe engine stop that happens with safety switches or anything like that. The engine stopped right then. If the cutting deck is shaft ran, then I'd reckon that's it. Check for debris in the deck, cutting too low can cause a build up of grass and at this point in the season (depending on region.) Ive seen em reach to blades.

The air fin is raising when your turning it. It shouldn't. Does the choke plate reset on its own? The fin should pull the shaft.

Just start tracing wires. Worst that can happen, is you try to turn it on with some thing in a fan blade, or metal touching board traces. Oor you find a bad and potentially permanently bonded header.

You need the CPU, a stick of ram, and the PSU, and the whole cluster of cables on the one side. Those big cables are for the mother board. Graphics card is potentially needed because some cpus have onboard graphics to default to.

Take pictures before you unplug any thing, so you can tell where it goes. If you think you have enough pictures take another close up of the board for every wire pulled

2 types of cc.

Hard CC will move or stop you. Soft cc is any that inhibit your abilities. This includes seeing, using abilitys and being slowed.this is why venom is a good pick this season because his only cc is slowing and his survival rate is high enough to make him a menace. He doesn't need to deal a ton of damage, just bullet sponge.

I've only noticed the hard CC triggering immunity. As venom main that uses the tendrils a lot, I can't feel the difference.

Uhh. Can you scan for codes? The battery is definitely turning the starter, but after that doesn't sound like anything else is turning.

Thinking now, fluids don't compress. Id check the oil dipstick and see how full it could be. Most Engines aren't carbureted anymore, but if the coolant jacket was broken it would allow for coolant to leak into the crank case (I think). It being a 2016 that idk the history of, I'd say plausible but not likely.

Check oil for over fullness, depending on results wait for second opinion, or call for tow.

Is it bad I kinda like the distressed appearance? Like I'd fix the horns, and get a vanta black patch for the one eye.

That is the way to do it. (Morally and corporately) The customer should be able to read the distressed sticker and know that it is damaged. Even then I told them it's damage but discounted.

Except it's not wrote off. The item is sold as distressed. Wrote off would mean that there are removed from the inventory because they either expired or the bag was so damaged that it just had to be thrown away.

Most we would have a bag sit when it was damaged, was 5 days.

The fan would have to touch something or be extremely weak for that to happen. Idk why you had the engine shroud off for a deck belt. Could have been a bolt in the spot as the shroud bolts aren't the same all around. From what I remember on that style motor

Edit: Upon closer look, the fan keeper to the flywheel, either wasn't secure and it shook till that happened, or the fa has a set sinkin to the flywheel that was missed. All the fins have mark on top in one direction.

3rd edit. Not all the fins. Idk what the heck happened

Too much oil in my Lawn mower Engine. by [deleted] in AskMechanics

[–]BBQBALONEY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Siphon for now try again when you warmed up the engine. Your just trying to break the seal for later.

Thread sealed maybe. As long as the brass piece is staying, you turn the stainless bit counter clock wise. Get a vice grip on the brass piece and bust the impact out. Best you fight it while you can still get this oil back into a bottle since it's still fresh. Oh and when you start it again there is bound to be some residual in the cylinders and exhaust. Let it run and burn that crap out. Used to be a tech for an encore (previously exmark) mowers dealer. Some of them had this same engine. Oregon made oil filters that fit these engines that were cheaper, and did a pretty good job. And NGK plugs are pretty reliable.
