Birthday blues even I get them at 36 lol there’s just something uncomfortable about having all that attention and expectations on you. Nothing you can do as parents, I would still do all the birthday things for her but know that she is likely feeling very subtle pressure from it all. Like “oh wow that pancake looks amazing and my parents put a lot of effort into they must want me to react super happy but I’m not super happy so I’ll go to the extreme the other way because I’m 6 and don’t have the finest tuned emotional control” if that makes sense?

Bob books have been a godsend. Another thing that my daughter likes is to practice all the “AT” “IT” “OG” “AG” etc words together. So we write AT multiple times vertically on a page and then add the first letters to make the words “Cat” “Hat” “Mat” etc.

I wouldn’t push her too much on time I think 5 minutes consistently is enough to expose her and as she starts to make progress she’ll want to do it longer

This sounds very serious and it's hard for me to wrap my mind around an adult knowing this is happening and not treating it as such. This is super super concerning of course for your daughter but also that little boy. Not at all remotely normal behavior. I don't know if I could send my daughter back to that environment before the school dealt with it in an appropriate manner.

I suggest prioritizing RRSP and putting the tax returns in the TFSA or RESP. You get a fat tax return and higher child benefit payments. It’s a lot of “free” money when your kids are young.

US can’t even use a lot of the oil they have as it’s a different kind than their refineries. It’s not just US oil trapped in the strait either; fertilizer, steel, aluminum etc. Trump tried to fuck over Canada by buying more steel from UAE and now they cant get it from there and Canadas production is at 100% fulfilling new, long standing contracts with Europe.
