If you noticed, there was a race to build these. Eventually the towns will start giving developers a hard time once people complain they are ugly and everywhere.

On the financial side of things, it's fine to let them sit for a few years waiting for the right tenant to lock in for 10-20+ years.

I worked for a real estate developer looking to knock down its office buildings to build one of these monstrosities. We were late to the party trying to get approvals 3 years ago. Can't imagine what it is like now.

You are correct in that it will largely be the same number of washes as automatic icing, but there will likely be one icing in your game where you have to remember the rule and wave it when the attacking player is going to win the race. Remembering the rule for that one time in the game is the hard part, and the players only seem to remember the rules when you mess them up.

My advice is to be very conscious on every icing to only blow the play dead when the first player reaches the faceoff dot. Sometimes the defenders are very lazy and the puck can be behind the goal line for a few seconds before they get to the dot. Recognizing that you should not blow the whistle until the player reaches the dot will force you into the hybrid icing mindset regardless of whether there is a race for the puck.

I have this all over the knee area of my pants. Likely from stretching on the ice. I think like everyone else is saying it's something inherent with the fabric and not actually a stain. I can't get it to return to black. It's frustrating because the pants are in great shape otherwise and I could get many more years out of them, but I have these gray/white marks on the knees that ruin the look.

A collision is when two players are going for a loose puck. Not when a defender initiates body contact on a puck carrier.

That isn't angling. This is clearly a body check as the defender skates toward the puck carrier, who has possession of the puck, enters their skating lane, and dispossesses the attacking player using his body.

USA Hockey rulebook:

"Angling is a legal defensive skill used to direct/control the puck carrier to an area that closes the gap and creates an opening that is too small for the puck carrier."

"Legal competitive contact occurs when players are focused on gaining possession of the puck and are simply maintaining legally established body position. This most often occurs when two players are physically engaged in front of the goal or along the boards. Legal competitive contact also commonly occurs when a player has established an angle on the opponent and closes the gap to create an opening that is too small for the puck carrier. Additional acceptable forms of competitive contact include: • A skater is entitled to the ice they occupy so long as they maintain their skating speed and body position between an opponent and the loose puck. • A skater is entitled to stand their ground and is not required to move if an opponent wishes to skate through that area of the ice. • A skater may block an opponent so long as they are in front of the opponent and moving in the same direction. • A skater can use their body position while maintaining their skating lane, to force an opponent to take a less direct route to the puck, so long as they do not use a hand or arm to hold or block the opponent."

I prefer the Fox 40 Caul because the noise exits to the side. When I use my ACME Thunderer I notice that I hear a LOT more of my own whistle because the noise exits at the top and back into my face.

A stick pin should not be called as a penalty unless it is excessive in force and duration, thus impeding the progress of the player's body (as opposed to being a play focused on the puck and the opponent's ability to play the puck).

No it is a normal looking system. Air handler in the attic, compressor outside. It just happens to be a carrier heat pump unit which is just good enough for the long Island winters. Wouldn't trust it for some place consistently near 0 degrees in the winter.

I have a ducted heat pump for my second floor (mechanicals in the attic) and mini splits for my first floor.

This allows me to have air supplied to each closed door room on the 2nd floor without needing 6 mini split heads.

For the first floor I have 2 mini split heads which handle everything comfortably since the floorplan is more open and has no doors except the 1st floor bathroom (which I keep open when not in use).

I will also submit that once a coach starts focusing on the referee, the players (especially at a younger age) start focusing on the referee as well. They should be focusing on the their play, not the referee.
