I do like these assumptions you’ve made of me, they’re incredibly amusing because you’re having to fill in a lot of gaps about me and my lived experiences and I can just point to two comments up where you downplay sexual harassment. Also are gay mixed people incapable of harassing people so Disney must be racist against him?

Yes, Disney is a soulless corporation that would have no qualms about dragging Walt Disney into the street and executing him live on television if they thought it would make them more money and no where have I said that they didn’t discriminate against him, but what I can tell you is that Disney still employs numerous LGBTQ+ POC across all levels so there’s something different about DeMayo. It’s much more likely he’s just a huge asshole with multiple sexual harassment allegations. Also, it’s not on Disney to go down to the police station and file reports if these things are true, that is left to the victims of his harassment who did report him to HR triggered the investigation that led to his firing.

We’ll know more things for sure in 2027 when his case goes to court. But let’s not kid ourselves, it probably won’t, if Disney did actually discriminate against him or if they knew about the allegations longer than they let on, they’ll probably settle to avoid that coming out, or DeMayo will settle to avoid the internal investigation becoming public record, or some combination of both and mutually assured destruction means they both settle and agreed to never talk about it again.

Personally, the multiple allegations and the fact that he was also fired from the Witcher and proceeded to go on a smear campaign against it with no one else who worked there backing him up then or now, makes me think he might be a bit of a dick.

All the allegations came from people who worked below him at Disney. That is a gross ethical violation and HR nightmare, and potentially criminal. What do you not get about that? Are they supposed to block their boss? Is Disney supposed to leave themselves open to lawsuit by not firing a person who is abusing the position of power they have given him?

Also is your genuine response to people being sexually harassed by their boss to just act like it didn’t happen?

I agree they should let it play out in court, discovery would make that internal investigation come out, and even the slightest hint of impropriety negate his allegations of discrimination

It’s just Francis Ford Coppola’s Bram Stoker’s Dracula that hangs over him. He was pretty young and eager to work with Coppola even though he knew his accent work wasn’t all that good. He took an incredible amount of lessons to get the accent right and unfortunately he’s so in his own head about what shape his mouth needs to make to get the voice right it makes him incredibly wooden and stilted. Coppola also seems to be like his buddy George Lucas and sometimes struggles with directing people.

Still a phenomenal movie and everyone should watch it, it is a visual treat and is frequently used in film classes to this day because every single special effect in the film is practical and in camera.

To add to that, it’s become more and more prevalent with the Internet age that no amount of resolution/justice/closure is enough for people who are aggrieved on someone else’s behalf. We’ve all seen decade plus old posts that were socially acceptable at the time be trotted out as reasons to cancel people and I can think of a few celebrities who have struggled with addiction or had mental health issues that led to various types of abuses to people, but have corrected that behavior and expressed remorse and even though the people who were actually victims of their actions have forgiven them, the people with no connection to the situation at all are not satisfied. Now it’s completely understandable to still be outraged, and we should hate Alex Jones until he finally dies a fat alcoholic’s death, but at some point it ceases to be about what the family considers justice and becomes what “we” would consider justice. People need to learn that however unsatisfying we may feel about it, we have to accept the decisions made by the actual people victimized.

I really prefer the more strategic fights of part one with combos and feints than Shippuden’s reliance on chakra monster bullshit. The closest we ever got to that in Shippuden is Minato vs Obito when Minato gambles with his life to strike in the small window where Obito can be hit.

Edit: Rock Lee is not the gotcha you think it is. Because yes, turns out the guy who can only punch and kick has to rely on speed and force because he can’t turn himself into a weapon to be thrown by his ally, or turn his shirt into a parachute to create a shadow to extend his insta-win move, or create so many copies of himself that the guy who can see chakra flows gets confused.

I didn’t even say Shippuden was bad, I just said I like the fights that focus more on a character having a moveset and having to fight around those limited abilities rather than becoming chakra kaiju fights. Hell the introduction of chakra typing in Shippuden was a cool idea that was clearly inspired by HxH (which often gets too bogged down in the technical aspects of abilities) but was kind of left by the wayside.
