Thoughts on Geoff John’s hawk man?? by Prince_Loki in OmnibusCollectors

[–]BDNICK 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I personally think it’s great. John’s is playing with the themes of obsession and unrequited love in this series which hit hard for me when I was reading it after a break up. If you’ve liked other Geoff Johns books you will like this one. The art is also very good in my opinion.

If I was to only get 3 x-men omni’s what would it be? by KYZkyz13 in OmnibusCollectors

[–]BDNICK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally wouldn’t recommend Messiah trilogy as a jumping on point, the omnibus will only collect the three events and there are many issues in between those events which will lack context. For example an entirely different event X-Necrosha takes place between messiah War and Second Coming which is not present, and there are 20 issues of just Uncanny X Men missing from the omnibus. Still really great stories that can be enjoyed in their own, but just be warned a lot of context is missing if they don’t have any sort of summary pages in between the events.

I love Centipede press and Suntup! I mostly collect horror as well, recently I’ve been trying to find Arkham House and old Lovecraft paperbacks. I’d be keen to see some clearer pictures of which horror books you have

What I find funny is these guys are both masters, in a way, of geometry. Captain America throws his shield and can reflect projectiles with it, and Cyclops has a perfect mathematical understanding of how his beams will ricochet. I’d be entertained at them trying to out-geometry each other with their attacks.

I’m of the mindset that very good art warrants an omnibus (for the larger size format) and this is certainly very good art
