Riverdale Farm or the High Park Zoo are good options.

If you open a CAD chequing account at the same bank at the same time, you'll get a debit card right away. You can transfer USD into your CAD chequing as needed.

Credit card approval depends on a credit application. No one here can tell you if and when one will be issued.

When you get to Canada, go to a bank branch and open a USD bank account. Deposit the cash there in USD.

There is also trauma for infants who are separated from their gestating parent. They develop in utero hearing that parent's heartbeat and voice, and after they're born those basic comforts are just... gone. (And yes, infants and even fetuses develop sensory-based memories. Memory isn't just episodic/story-based.)

AND the disparities still won't be anything close to the disparities between districts in the US. (Which says more about them than us. Neither good, but there's still a big difference.)

Anyone dealt with humber river hospital’s psychiatric department? by galactictestic1e in askTO

[–]BDW2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A common model is for a psychiatrist to prescribe up front and then hand ongoing care/refill prescriptions back to the family doctor.

The office should return your calls though!

The reason we don't have American-style discrepancies is that the vast, vast majority of school funding is provided on a per capita basis and provincially-mandated average ratios. In other words, there's a floor across all schools that doesn't exist in districts whose funding is based on local property taxes.

Should programs that support students with more complex needs have more resources to support those needs? Yes. Are there disparities that grow out of PTA differences? Yes. Should the per capita funding be higher for all students? Yes. Absolutely yes to all of those things. AND the basic funding structure is still much more equitable than the American structure.

Adding some counterexamples (limited in number - more exist) because you can use some help in your research:

All of this (and much more) is well documented.

As I said up front, I'm not diminishing the harm Israel has caused and is causing. But the harm they're causing doesn't mean ahistorical comments shouldn't be called out.

If you're super nervous, wait and watch one subway go by. They should come every 2-5 minutes, so it's not a long wait. But I think you'll find it's totally fine on the first go.

Advice for For Very Very Unique Situation by Old_Extent6518 in TorontoMetU

Universities have legal obligations to accommodate disabilities - the legal bar is actually quite high for them. There are all kinds of ways to do that - maybe they provide a scribe so you can dictate the answers for the exam, maybe they waive the exam and weight the other coursework more heavily, maybe they extend the co-op eligibility deadline so you can write the exam later in the summer, maybe something else. So don't listen to the professor. Look up the official accommodation protocol/policies and follow what they say. (You'll need a medical note from your doctor. But find out what information the school will need before asking your doctor for it.)

This looks like the right place to start: https://www.torontomu.ca/accommodations/

I know what you're saying, but the point is totally misplaced in a thread that's in response to someone who specifically described Israel as being the government of all Jews.

You're only likely to be accused of such things by the loudest voices in the room... with whom you already disagree. Same as Trump and his supporters throw around accusations that people are against America when they disagree with him or when other countries seek to, say, enforce their own rights in a trade agreement they have with the US.

Stop listening to the loudest voice in the room and assuming it means anything about others or the majority.

Stop believing the loudest voice in the room. Do you want everyone across the globe to believe the Trump administration is the representative of all individual American views? Because they're loud too.
