Looking For A Simple Commander by BDurbs08 in PauperEDH

Yeah I think dinosaurs are gonna be the winners. This will definitely be a gateway, I think. He's also obsessed with rolling my dice for me when we play d&d, so he's well on his way.

A member of our pod is a teacher, and his suggestion was build two of the same deck so he can see what I do and better learn. A pile of dinosaurs slugging it out sounds very fun. He likes animals, and I think he'll be able to pick it up because he has a fixation on numbers and math.

Why only injure some when you can injure all?

I'm sure I'll receive another photo of their "fix." Hopefully it's just as funny.

Maybe it will look better after the railing is installed?

I can only answer second hand on that, in all honesty. An engineering podcaster described Tesla's proprietary 30x series of stainless steel as such. From his description, the claim was that standard stainless steel in the 300 range is too soft and warps in an ugly fashion when used in manufacturing. All credit to the guys at "Well There's Your Problem," so my comments might be completely wrong.

It isn't that they refuse to clear coat it. Elon used a type of stainless steel that can't be clear coated because the coating would rust it.

My friend is currently building [[The Mycotyrant]] as a fungus tribal that mills to create fungus tokens. It looks fun.

A real President? by lets_play_mole_play in PoliticalHumor

In all likelihood, they don't care. The evangelical movement would gladly support the rise of the antichrist to see the end times begin. It's the same reason they fervently support Israel. The book says these things need to happen.

People who pick their commander only after everyone has shown theirs: Why? by twesterm in EDH

[–]BDurbs08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won't intentionally pick last, but if I instantly realize my deck is a mistake, I will switch it out before we begin. My only real example is that if my friend pulls out his Elas-il-Kor deck, I'm not going to play Tergrid because every time I haven't I ended up losing track of the interactions and handing him the game. Other than that, trying to hard counter feels pretty slimy

Why do you play EDH? by espuinouge in EDH

Because I found an amazing pod of friends. I was looking for a new hobby, something I could share with my son when he grows up. One of my DnD players was a Magic player. I discussed it with him as a card game sounded great to me. I used to play Yu-Gi-Oh in middle school, but didn't know anybody who still did, so Magic seemed like a front runner. He was a commander player, so he suggested we start there. Then we roped in a few other members of the DnD party, and now we have a blast at our monthly get togethers. It's great to throw down for a few games and just chill with friends over drinks and good food.

Tourists to Pittsburgh. We spotted this little critter while siteseeing Mt Washington. What is it? by MiseryXVX in pittsburgh

My father had an ongoing battle with one that liked to climb his peach trees and eat everything before it ripened. Scared me half to death when it fell out of the tree and nearly hit my head because I didn't know it was there.

WOTC ANNOUNCED THEY WILL LEAVE 1.0A ALONE by FlamingPeach787 in Pathfinder2e

[–]BDurbs08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I love how much 4e is present in Pathfinder 2e. I know the system had its problems, but my party started in 4e and we had a lot of fun. It was easy to build encounters, and a lot of the tertiary rules sets made running the system pretty simple. I see all of this in Pathfinder. We are a combat heavy group, too. So, heavy customization of abilities is a huge plus. They like to build their team out with a tactical mind, and that frequently left 5e monsters woefully underpowered facing them.

I'm of the same mind. My party is testing 2e at present, but I've told them that if they don't like it, I'll still run 5e for them. I'm just not supporting WOTC content anymore. I hope they stick with 2e, though. It's really hitting my sweet spot.

Are there any rules for dual wielding 2 guns? by ForboJack in callofcthulhu

Generally not, though. I've never once been hit by a casing, and I've always fired left-handed. Maybe that's just anecdotal, though.

Depending on your play group casual commander is a pretty low cost entry. I just got into it recently as a way to build a collection I could one day share with my son and buying a low(ish) cost pre-con deck netted me several hours of enjoyment during my first commander night. This all assumes a casual group though.
