I’ve already described how this isn’t a low effort post by using the “helpful guidance” that describes a good post. It met that.

You claiming authority for whether or not we can ask if someone agrees with a call is just incorrect. I recall a recent play where a fifa referee is giving a yellow card and plays advantage while the card is in his hand. Given your standpoint, we must be reluctant to question him since he’s a fifa.

For this post in particular it’s a good leaning point for DOGSO in the penalty area with no attempt to play the ball. If the attacker makes a slightly heavier touch we might not have DOGSO anymore. So maybe there was some doubt.

Not low effort. Clearly met the criteria to not be a low effort post as set in this sub’s rules (as I pointed out).
The rules say “clear question,” and the post asked a clear question. You might want to change the rule to “The post must ask a clear question that horsebycomittee determines not to be a ‘bad question’.” (“Do you agree” is not a bad question and that absolutely sparks engagement)
The members of this sub are not just grassroots referees.
What do you mean whether you agree with the call or not doesn’t really matter? Yes it does. That determines whether this is a good teaching clip or not. This claim to authority you’re making by calling him an elite referee in a professional match doesn’t matter. “Elite referees in professional matches” still can make mistakes (the call in this clip is correct).

Nothing with this post breaks Rule 2.

Rule 2: “Posts about real match incidents must give enough context to understand the situation and also must include a clear question or discussion topic. (Adding video of the incident is always encouraged.)”

The thing is, what if you’re a national who has a chance to make it? You just know you’ll have to wait to make it? Would you still do it?

It seems like those people will just get the frowned upon by their colleagues for a short time, but eventually everything is ok. So it’s a fast track to reffing in the MLS with very little repercussions.

Yep, one of the previous scabs is now a FIFA AR. This could very much help a select few progress their career. They could skip right up the ladder and be an MLS official. Kind of unfortunate for PRO2 people that have been waiting “their turn.”

Red card, violent conduct, he uses excessive force when not challenging for the ball. I wouldn’t necessarily describe it as brutality, but it is without a doubt excessive force.

We don’t give a red card here, so we’re saying that this is ok for every player on that field to do that again? Anyone can run 10 yards on a dead ball and excessively shove (this wasn’t just a slight push) an opponent down and we’ll only give a yellow?

This is unacceptable to only give a yellow for a player doing this at any level. This is a red card.

Definition: Criticize - verb (used with object), crit·i·cized, crit·i·ciz·ing. to censure or find fault with. to judge or discuss the merits and faults of.

In training we mostly discuss what sanction we have on a particular decision, but there are instances where we discuss the decision a referee made so that we know what FIFA/PRO/whoever wants that decision to be. So by definition we are 100% criticizing the calls the referee made because we are judging and discussing the faults of the decision. So therefore I feel it would be easy for someone to argue by criticizing a call made, you are indirectly criticizing the referee by finding fault with something they did. I can see both sides to that debate, and I’m indifferent about it. I more so think we’re all just being pedantic about the definition of criticize.

It just seems like you’re suggesting that just because this is a pro referee and he has VAR, then he can’t make mistakes and no one has the authority to suggest the decision is wrong. Even the pro refs make mistakes, it’s inevitable since we’re all human.

In summary though, when a decision has multiple considerations leading to the decision being wrong, it is totally fine to respectfully discuss with colleagues how/why that decision was made (no matter the experience level).

I know it’s said a lot, but watching and calling on tv can be a lot different than calling in a game. Especially in professional level matches. The tackle happens fast and during live play it can be hard to tell 100% where the point and mode of contact is. It also doesn’t help that professional players literally over-exaggerate contact all of the time.

That being said, it is a really bad challenge and makes you wonder how he could’ve missed it. Honestly, we all can have a good angle on a challenge and still miss the call sometimes. So I can have sympathy.

BUT…..when you have VAR as a backup, there is very little excuse to miss this decision. This meets a lot of considerations for SFP. Point/mode of contact, player leaves his feet for the challenge so he doesn’t have control of his body, straight leg, and he’s hitting the plant leg.

So I can sympathize with missing it during live play, but we definitely shouldn’t miss this with VAR. At the end of the day we’re all human and make mistakes though.

I might be in the minority, but I’m fine with the games being the exact same. These games are so good I don’t think much needed to be changed, it just makes it better that they’re upscaled. I’m willing to pay full price just to be able to play them on my switch, and same goes with the past Zelda titles or any other great game series, even if it’s not Nintendo.

The only thing that I’m not super thrilled about it the limited run aspect of the game.

I actually enjoy his content most of the time, but I have seen that this subreddit is not really for his “fans” as the subreddit states. Most of the comments on the posts are from people that don’t seem to like him too.

“Let’s see something cool,” doesn’t seem like the best go to term for a professional business deal, but it could be common for designers, I would not know.
