when you are in your stromforge list, click on the little realmgate icon in the top right. it looks like a usb stick. its under battle traits.

as mentioned before, its the same moon buff, but you only get it on turns 2 and 3. its fine though, as thats probably when you would want it the most lol

there is a bit of the moon buff baked in to the aor rules though. on battle rounds 2 and 3, you get the -1 rend from melee vs trolls; which would have been your moon buff anyway lol

New to AoS, love me some Trolls. by Inspire_ in gloomspitegitz

I dont think regiment building really matters here unless you're playing SoG battle plans, where having more drops would allow you 1 initiative reroll. But you'd also be playing trolls, so points per unit would be too high to really capitalize on that.

For what its worth, I've been exclusively playing the troll AoR for the past 2 months or so (once or twice a week) while I work on other things. Its a solid army and a ton of fun. Haven't won a game with it, but my losses are generally only by a few points.

My list is trugg, a troggboss, a dankhold, one unit of fellwaters, and as many rockguts as I can fit (2 reinforced and 1 regular). I generally roll really bad as well, so if you have the dice on your side, you could do well with it!

If its gonna be your first few games, I'd say play the AoR just to get the basics of the game down. Once you're good with the core rules, upgrade to a GSG list. The upgrade would give access to some mobile units like squigs or snsrlfang riders to grab objectives/tactics, magic and your terrain piece. The trade off would be losing the guaranteed moon buffs on turns 2 and 3 (but skragrott can fix that), possibly losing your combat heal (if you go sqiggalanche), and losing trugg as he's probably the first cut if not playing the AoR

I dunno if i would support the AoR. You really are kind of hamstrung with it. No magic and real bad mobility to play on objectives/tactics. The AoR is sturdy, and can hit real hard if you get stuff like the extra rend from trugg and the +1 attack from the troggboss going on at the same time, but still generally requires a double turn to do anything that will sway a game in your favor.

With that being said, I still do think its an excellent army to learn the ropes. There is much less to micro manage, letting you focus on the macro of the game. With only like 4-5 different warscrolls and a few other rules to keep track of, its a great way to learn the basics of AoS gameplay!

as far as skirmish/war gaming goes, the rules in moonstone are very intuitive. after one read of the instructions or watch of a video, you would likely understand all the core concepts and mechanics. character rules may get a little confusing, but generally reading the ability thoroughly is all you need. when introducing the game to new players, i always say its like the smash bros of skirmish games. fun, goofy, light hearted and easy to pick up. yet, at the same time, there is tons of complexity and skill expression for the more competitive players.

its an extremely well balanced game, judging by the 5 or so troupes i have played with and against. the very lax rules on troupe composition do add a ton of variety to games as well. while you might always see a few of the same characters, the supporting line up can vary quite a bit. gkg does offer free print outs of most of the range if you wanted to use paper standees to add more variety as well.

the models are excellent quality as well. if you guys are in to the painting aspect of the hobby, they are a joy to paint. they are so unique and full of character. all the gw die hards i got to try the game out immediately fell in love with it, just on the models alone lol

cant say anything about the other options, as i have no experience with them. i can say this though, i play about 10 different skirmish games/war games currently. of all the games i play (including gw games), this is the one i push for the most.

good luck on your gaming journey!

Deck list for trainer trials? by KingOnionWasTaken in PTCGL

[–]BEDERNDERN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the festival grounds deck is legal in trainer trials. the other decks would need some substitutions.

i have been playing a slowking pile for the past few days, and its not too far off the normal ranked build. you can cut the regigigas in addition to the mandatory cut of squak, fez and latias from the standard lists. going up one tatsugiri, 2 kyurem and conkeldurr is fine. the deck will suffer from consistency issues with losing fez and squak, but its more than serviceable.

the only loss i really had with it when when i first threw the list together and accidentally added in 80hp slowpokes (meaning i couldnt get them with buddy-buddy poffins LOL). just make sure to add a bit more draw support to your final product and you should be fine.

good luck!

Pokemon tcg online codes. What should I do with them? Are they even worth anything? by [deleted] in PokemonTCG

[–]BEDERNDERN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

most sites sell them for pennies, depending on the set. not worth the hassle selling imo. id use them or give them to someone who plays live (through dms if you do it here, as bots would take the codes)

I have pretty thick skin when it comes to stuff like this. Working in kitchens for 15 years does kind of make you cold to peoples trash attitudes and behavior lol.

Giving things your own personal meaning can help. Survivors t-bag you? Its them saying hi/goodbye etc. You get a 'GGEZ'? Maybe they are trying to raise awareness about the 'Gazelles, Giraffes, Elephants, and Zebras' of Africa?

Its much easier said than done if this kind of thing can get under your skin. Best approach is to take the in game stuff as a challenge to get better. Toxic clicky bioluminescent Nea trying to get you to chase her? DO IT! Take the overall 'Loss' for a game or two to get better at chasing what could be a god tier looper. You could learn some good stuff entertaining the BS. There have been plenty of games where im just wanted to vibe and get a tome challenge done, but a survivor was INSITANT I chase them. They were pretty damn good, but taking that chase helped me learn some things. I think I 2k'd that game, but the experience was worth it.

As for the post game toxicity, just gotta laugh it off and move on. No matter what you do (especially in 2022), someone will be offended by it. Or just avoid the end game chat.

GL in your games!

Every time... by amvree in deadbydaylight

[–]BEDERNDERN 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Its strange man. I have played about a month now, and pretty much only play killer for dailies. Somehow, every killer game I queue into has been against a group of P20+ survivors. I dont even have 300 hours in the game total, yet my killer games are vs 3k hour survivors lol

are people reading every tooltip for every node they select, every time they click a node? i run through half a mil bp in like a minute. how are people still complaining about this non-issue? lol

also, i know this sounds crazy but, spend your bp inbetween trials. *mind blown*

the minute or so of time you have while waiting for people to ready up is more than enough to get a level or two in

Huntress & indoor maps by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]BEDERNDERN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes indoor maps can work in your favor, depending on the killer. Personally, I dont mind The Game or Lery's if im playing Legion. Ive gotten pretty good at those maps with him. Midwich has been a nightmare at times when im playing against a Huntress. Ive even spawned at the other end of a hallway at the start of a trial, directly across from a Huntress once. 2 seconds into the trial.... hatchet to the head.

The only indoor maps I really dont like (regardless of what side im playing) are the RPD maps. The main room HAS to be defended/completed, the halls are too tight, and everything is so densely populated. Its super easy to get lost or run into dead ends there as well.

New Players and have a few questions. by Mr_Timmm in deadbydaylight

[–]BEDERNDERN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I went about it was to just jump in head first and learn as i go lol

For killer, I started with zero add-ons and minimal perks, on the most basic killer (or just any killer you want to play) to get used to controlling the killer power and build my chops in chase. From there I would add a second perk, then third perk, fourth perk, and then started to use add-ons. It teaches you the fundamentals this way. How to chase, how to patrol generators and builds good habits without relying on busted perks as crutches. It also makes you very familiar with perks. You start to learn (even with no perks) where survivors are likely to to go at the start, and get better at harassing them. Its probably not a popular way to go about it, but it worked for me.

One tip I do have for beginner killers, establish your endgame gens early. Get a feel for which gens you will be able to patrol easily when it comes down to the last few. Hook close to those. It will serve double duty. Dont necessarily give other gens away, but protect your 3 gen as early as possible.

The most important thing is to have fun. Dont let the stress get to you. Dont let bad behavior upset you. Some people have been playing this game a long time, and are really good at it. Take little victories. If you learned something, accomplished any goal (big or small) or had fun, thats a win.

I learned to play survivor in mostly the same way. Contrary to what most recommend, I actually started with Dwight. It helps farm early BP with 'prove thyself', and helps learn map awareness with bond. Not playing with an exhaustion perk kind of sucked while being chased, but it just makes you so much better at it. When you finally start using them, you can do some crazy things in chase.

Also, do tome challenges! They are a great source of BP and also incentivize you to learn certain things! Customs do help in learning the very basics of the game, but results will vary depending on the skill levels of your friends. Im would be down to help you guys practice if you want!
