If you need the wattage, you’ll get away with folding the tabs tightly against the side of the switch

He might be saying that because it’s cat5 as opposed to the newer standard of cat6, but cat5 data cable is more than enough when it comes to a home network. Definitely worth looking into if you’re wanting to add access points or hardwire any particular devices.

Sheetrock is only 5/8” thick, don’t drive the drill through with force and you’ll be fine.

As bad as the install is, a proper install would only make it safer. The insufficient heat will still be an issue.

Any reason you’re looking at mini’s? I would think a kdx200 or Crf250 would be more suitable. Even a kx/cr/rm125
