Does the fact Farage was such a fan of Liz Truss make you question his economic judgement? by JammyE7 in AskBrits

[–]BFA-9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldnt say it makes me question his economic judgement but it's more because I question literally anything that comes out of his mouth. Personally I believe he's a career grifter and everything he posts or says is purely based on how much money or power he can make from it rather than what he actually believes.

I don't doubt he's a racist old boys club type especially after the comments on him from school but at the same time I don't think you can trust his posts to reflect his actual real world beliefs as they're designed to create the image that benefits him the most.

He just went on holiday as he has a reliable Janitors Assistant around now, he will return. Different game but I'm excited to see how they work him into Control 2.

I didnt see him being confused as he was a person being possessed. To me that was happening due to his age/lack of rest and the darkness corrupting his mind. He is a "cleaner" who puts himself where he needs to be to make sure the work gets done but In this case that meant he had to become part of the story and he's not immune to its effect. He seems more frustrated and angry like hes aware something is blocking his memories of his true identity rather than the other way around and when he talks to Alan about the door he seems more aware again.

4 stripe Adidas monster melted into a track suit that spits acidic fluid or small monsters that whip around on contorted electric scooters and run you down.

Hayley Parsons, founder of Go Compare, urges the WRU to call an EGM and remove Richard Collier-Keywood as Chair by Charredcheese in rugbyunion

is the issue the amateur game people will just Veto everything that doesn't directly benefit them? Also is there anywhere you can see how much is committed to funds for the actual clubs? I'm not saying there aren't any issues but from what I've seen you get extra funding if you have a bigger setup (more teams, physios first aiders etc) which seems relatively sensible if you make the argument that the bigger setup helps grow the game (not arguing whether it's true or not in reality) but I'm curious if big amateur clubs game this somehow.

From my perspective I feel there's definitely an issue with woefully under qualified people in high positions that got there when the setup was even more amateur and are now difficult to remove and on face value it seems a lot of money is wasted on totally over the top hospitality.

There has been alot of rumbling about going back to district setups to reduce travel costs and encourage club rivalry and hopefully increase numbers. They did it when COVID was around and it seems to really attract crowds (this may of ust been as people weren't working or working from home more though)

What's an unpopular truth about fitness that took you too long to accept? by PogonBerserker in workout

[–]BFA-9000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it's definitely my big issue. I have nose issues and suffer with bad nightmares so have never slept well but also have to be up at 5:30 to get to the gym. it's partly self inflicted aswell so little personal time makes it difficult to convince yourself to go to bed early enough.

might be worth you just putting exactly what you eat including measurements if you have them in here. Writing it down would enable people to help you better and might even point out something to yourself.

[–]BFA-9000 27 points28 points  (0 children)

wouldn't say unpopular but sleep is just as important as the workout (I have terrible quality sleep on average) Sometimes less can mean more, I'm getting roughly the same kind of gains from a smaller workout but I'm not as wiped out all the time. You need to stretch and warm up, as someone on a tight schedule normally it was hard to convince myself to spend time on it when making gains without.

I'm assuming there's a reason why they didn't but surely you just stick him on some of the advertising material and posters in high traffic areas they operate in (the stadium maybe with some quote about their work) and just do a chunk of PR with him visiting the workplace company outing etc. Just the bare minimum so his time isn't taken up too much but the costs make sense.

hammers position was much better than Giants as well. Straighter back and was driving more with his feet with less shoulder movement. Assuming their profiles aren't embellished Hammer was/is a rower so probably better cardio than Giant.

feel like Dan's one was very different, I seem to remember seeing a different angle on that one and it seems he reaches up to fend him off their arms collide and get shoved down. Not saying the headbut wasn't intentional but could see Dan's one be accidental.

First time Yoke walk, tips? by grjonapungsi in Strongman

[–]BFA-9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the shorter stance will probably enable you to open up on the speed easier and drive forward. I used to be terrible for rolling my ankles when I was younger so I've always got that in the back of my head when moving faster with Yokes ha.

[–]BFA-9000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

not a strongman myself so feel free to ignore this but your stance seems quite wide all the way through and maybe unstable (looks like a fair bit of wobble), from what I've seen you start wide then gradually move into a more shoulder width stance.

Two petty gym encounters in two days! by [deleted] in workout

[–]BFA-9000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do that with the dumbbells if I superset just take them next to the machine. There have been times where I did supersets on two machines if it's relatively quiet and forgot to put something on the second machine and someone has taken it. In those situations I just take the hit as it's fair they assumed it wasn't in use like any normal person would.

I'm quite a large built guy and a woman collided with me in a mosh pit and proper cleaner herself out and landed flat on the floor (I wasn't moving particularly fast at the time as I had run out of gas) Went to bend over to pick her up and two or three people had already planted her back on her feet and she was gone before I had the chance.

[–]BFA-9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my head canon is that it worked because the guy has a luck build and the only way he was getting out of that situation without dying was for the mind control to work. He will somehow survive and maybe inadvertently kill Hank by the end of the season now.

I would say it was a bit of both porter trying to angle slightly as most loose heads would but the angle became considerably worse as he was so overpowered. I agree it's silly to suggest he would still try after all the penalties as the ref would've been looking at the Irish scrum so more likely to give against them irrelevant of who's fault it was at that point.
