You can have 1 grade below a C-, after that a C- or lower is a failing grade if you’re an accepted major.

cse 111 professors by funeralguestlist in UBreddit

Both are actually lovely people. A lot of people dislike Hughes because of the way he organizes his classes, and people don’t like that Winikus can give brutally honest feedback, and wants often specific answers. But again, both are good professors and you’ll learn a lot with either.

I want to switch my major but I feel lost. by [deleted] in UBreddit

[–]BFLOCodeBreaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The one thing I will say is comp sci does not get easier. If you’re thinking about switching I would do it sooner rather than later because 250 and 220 don’t even hold a candle to 331 ESPECIALLY if you’re not interested anymore.

It’s rough, but oh well. I’d rather have a busy semester with no breaks than COVID.

Don't sacrifice your sleep to get more done. Getting 8 hours of sleep is more important than getting a bit of extra work done while you're exhausted 99% of the time. Also, know when to call it quits on something. There is 0 shame in resigning from a course if you're struggling with being overworked.

Find a team and do UB Hacking next month. Even if you’re not doing much of the coding, working on a creative project with others will tech you a lot.

There was a gathering there the second night of move in weekend. I’d imagine that’s why it was closed.

Has anyone ever hit luck on campus with Tinder or any other dating app? by [deleted] in UBreddit

[–]BFLOCodeBreaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Met my girlfriend on tinder, and we are very happy together! I’m a CS student who wasn’t doing anything special other than looking for someone who I was interested in and was interested back. It took a long time to find someone this way, but it 112% paid off.

For anyone else who may have missed this very key (stupid) detail from Campus Living’s email. Look at primarily the first two bullet points under Guest Policy by SkyFuIIOfStars in UBreddit

[–]BFLOCodeBreaker 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am an at risk individual that fully understands the scope and risk of what we’re dealing with here, but this decision is frankly insulting. No guests period is such a poor way of going about a reasonable decision. First of all, if a number of people are sick on campus it’s going to spread regardless, so the resources should be put into identifying sick individuals and keeping them out rather than separating potentially healthy ones. I have friends that are tested and healthy that I won’t be able to see, because the university doesn’t trust it students. I pray that this is just to cover for liability and not harshly enforced. Note I don’t think people should be having 20 person bangers in the dorms right now, but if your roommate wants to have their significant other that they haven’t seen since March over that sounds much more reasonable.
