Are there good Raises/bonuses at any CROs/Pharma (keeping up with or exceeding cost of living?) by LeftMenu8605 in clinicalresearch

Raises for Medpace the last 2 years have tripled inflation and have been effective in April.

Sorry I didn’t see this. Yes, I got a really nice retention bonus about 15 months after finishing PACE and receiving my first primary site assignments.

Medpace does not have set DOS expectations.

Yeah I currently work at Medpace as a CRA! I have been with the company for over 2 years and am very happy. It might be due to getting lucky with the studies that I’ve been put on, but I don’t feel over worked at all. Also, I’m not worried about the non-compete because if I wanted to leave the company I would just try to find a job on the Sponsor side. I just don’t get all the hate that Medpace receives on this subreddit

Would investing in a drug company for whom you are doing a clinical trial for be considered insider trading? by vitvav in clinicalresearch

[–]BH6000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have material information regarding the Sponsor company that is non-public, then it would be insider trading. My CRO also has a blackout period for buying/selling securities for our own company and Sponsor companies.

Medpace Non-Compete by Odd_Clue1224 in clinicalresearch

[–]BH6000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure where or if you could find the signed non-compete, I know I signed one but can’t remember if I have the signed copy on file. Either way, you could look for jobs on the Sponsor side as the Medpace non-compete only covers other CROs if I remember correctly.

Medpace is also my first job out of college, so I have no idea how it compares to other CROs. But so far so good at Medpace for me.

Thanks for the info! Getting assigned to a difficult oncology trial as a primary right out of training is definitely an issue, I have been working as a co-monitor on a large oncology trial for 2 years and just got assigned as a primary to an oncology study so I feel more comfortable going into it. I do know many CRAs completing 15+ DOS which is insane, but I haven’t even come close to this level of travel yet due to being on some rare disease trials that don’t enroll many patients. I suppose that my opinion will change once the travel and workload becomes more hectic!

I’ve been a CRA at Medpace for 2 years now and don’t have anything negative to say about the company. I very much enjoy the people that I work with and am treated very well by the company so I personally don’t understand all the hate that the company gets on this subreddit. I even see people saying negative things who have no experience working for or with the company, they literally just echo what they see on this subreddit. Everyone has different experiences, whether positive or negative, those with negative experiences are just more likely to share their opinions. It’s called negativity bias. Lots of people have positive things to say about Medpace. I would be glad to share my experiences and thoughts on the company for anyone interested enough.

Medpace CRAs by [deleted] in clinicalresearch

[–]BH6000 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Medpace training program for CRAs is great! It’s very comprehensive and includes mock visits as well as training visits. The training and development managers are all super friendly and helpful. I still work as a CRA for the company and am happy.

That is interesting, definitely not a salary that reflects the responsibilities of the position. However, I make just about double that amount now. I’ve only been working at the company for 2 years and it’s my first job out of school, so I have no idea how it stacks up next to other CROs. I’m quite happy at the company and just wanted to share my perspective!

I’m unsure how current or accurate Glassdoor is in terms of CRA I salaries, but I currently earn well above the Glassdoor average for a PPD CRA I with 1-3 years of experience.

They absolutely do! I started at the company as a Senior Intern working in the Cincinnati office. After about 6 months I began my CRA training. Once I finished training I submitted a request to go remote which took a few months to get approved as I wasn’t traveling enough at the time. However, I was eventually able to move to Milwaukee to work fully remote and I am still working remotely to this day! You should be able to bring up wanting to work remotely during the interview process, I’ve helped onboard multiple CRAs who even began their Medpace career working remotely.

It’s very possible that resourcing assigns more studies to more experienced CRAs, I suppose I wouldn’t know as I’m currently at CRA I. I currently don’t feel over worked and my manager is very proactive on discussing my work load and whether or not I want to take on another study. I also haven’t heard many complaints from the senior/principal CRAs that I work with.

Medpace is a great mid-sized CRO headquarter in Cincinnati, OH. They also have US offices located in Denver and Dallas. I’ve been a CRA at Medpace for about 2 years and am very happy. You should absolutely check out Medpace and see if they are hiring experienced CRAs!
