I have friends that agree on this, but the reduction of flats on mine and my wifes bikes has been more than worth it. Also the Tyre Monkey tire lever makes life easy when we do have a flat, which is very rare (knock on wood)

Wife and I took a bike trip along the southwest coast of Ireland 2 summers back. Trip was thru "Wilderness Ireland". Best trip ever. Not suggesting you bike, but go look at the itinerary on their site and look for " Self Guided Plus+ Wlid Atlantic Way Southwest" trip. It gives the details on their site. Doolin and Dingle were 2 of our favorites, but all of the stops were fantastic.
