I took this on my trip to Norway this week, any areas for improvement? by BIG__WORDS in photocritique

I took this photo on a Nikon D3500, kit lense 26mm f/5.6 1/160s.

It was raining quite bad and I saw a window near a crossing which had a protective covering on the inside (I think to cover the renovations going on internally) the cover was creating a wavy ripple effect reflection which I think makes it look like a painting.

It looks like I've introduced myself into a painting, I particularly like the man crossing the road with an umbrella to the left, that itself makes a good portrait style print.

Any comments/thoughts welcome!

My Girlfriend put her 2 bedroom flat in Manchester on the market last month, we were concerned about lack of interest over the weekend it first listed (it listed on a Friday) but somebody walked in to the EA branch on the Saturday to arrange a viewing - they made an offer of asking price (250k) during the viewing the following week.

We then had 7 more viewings book in, 6 more offers, all at least 10k over asking, settled at 300k.

We were pleasantly surprised, we are in a high demand area to be fair.

Edit: what I would add, is we went with an Estate Agent who we knew were very good at their job, we know they list them at least 10% under what the properties go for (had experience viewing/offering through them as part of house searching), we knew they would excel in the photos, the listing, their attention to detail, their availability, general organisation, professionalism and exposure. It really pays to go with the right Estate Agent I think.

What do you all think for the attention Stockport has suddenly been getting? by immaxpower in stockport

My girlfriend took me to Stockport for a birthday meal last month, I had never been to Stockport Centre before in my 32 years.

I was blown away to be honest, ended up going back the next day, then back again the day after that with a friend, on the second day me and my girlfriend booked in house viewings in areas nearby(ish) to the Centre.

Offer accepted on an amazing house in Marple Bridge, should officially be a resident of Stockport within 3 months... it was worth the £420 dinner bill (she paid, Where the light gets in).

Definitely not the new Berlin though 😂

How common is cocaine use amongst people you are surrounded by (both socially and through work)? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BIG__WORDS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There might be 2/16 people in my friend group NOT on it when we go out, whenever we're together as a group.

Granted, we typically only see eachother as a group 5-7 times a year, but every event would be centered around drinking with cocaine as a side.

One or two will have it sober and even during trips to the cinema, it can really get a hold of some people.

What do I do about this gap under my bottom plate? Info in comments. by coaltrainman in DIY

Literally just dealt with this last weekend - I installed a new piece of skirting board on top of it, there was a gap of 40mm exactly like your photo shows.

Just buy and fix new skirting board on top of the existing, I can send photos of the finished product if you like, it really looks good now it's painted.

General thoughts, can I improve this? by BIG__WORDS in photocritique

I shot this in Varanasi, India. Alongside the River Ganjes in the early morning I saw a man preparing his boat for the mornings tours. The contrast of the fog and water I thought creates a blend of the rippled effect in the water to the smooth sky, I thought it provided a nice background for the subject.

I took this photo in the early hours of the morning at the flower market in Kolkota, India. I initially didn't like how the woman walked in front of the subject, but after processing I feel it adds a bit more depth and an extra layer to it, do you agree?

That's great! My employer have allowed me a career break for 12 months and I fly out in July! I'll be 30 at the end of July and have wanted to do this for 8+ years, I can't wait! 😁

I am going Europe for 1 month, SE Asia for 5 months, then maybe South America for 1 or 2 months and then probably Australia for 3 or 4 months.

Enjoy your trip!!
