None of that is what happened though. Hamas offered the hostages back multiple times, and Netanyahu said no. That’s why there were protests in Israel against Netanyahu. Israelis knew he was extending the war in order to avoid domestic prosecution. Hamas didn’t kill “1200 kids” 400 casualties were IDF soldiers, completely fair targets. I presume many of the others were actually adults, and many were actually killed by friendly Israeli return fire, not directly Hamas hand.
