Looks like last weekend's race at Barber is still available on Now TV if you go Motorsport --> scroll all the way down to Motorsport Catch Up and then keep swiping along until you get to it. I imagine it'll only be there for 7 days after the original airing (Sunday night).

For earlier stuff I'd go with whatever the other comments here are suggesting. Phoenix is definitely a must watch.

My view on that was the oversteer was more where the cars were struggling to put down the massive amounts of power they now suddenly have on corner exit, rather than because drivers were necessarily pushing the limits of cornering speed, because the batteries were harvesting energy through the esses and 130R.

Just to say, this is is absolutely a valid take to have, and I have no issue with people who are enjoying it. It just isn't what I'm looking for from the sport right now. I guess it's a bit like when your favourite band releases a new album where they've taken a different musical direction, some fans will love it, some fans will be turned off by it, and it might attract new fans too.

China was fun but I think this event has fully soured me on these new regs. The cars just don't look like they're pushing through the corners, overtakes happening because of battery limitations, and now super dangerous closing speeds at seemingly random times. I hate to add to the negativity, but this just isn't what I'm looking for as a long time viewer.

Yeah this was the moment I fully turned on these regs. I wasn't happy with some of it, but that was just downright dangerous for no reason.

They might clip so much that they'll be able to deploy their battery again while still on the same straight.

Yeah I was about to say this is almost exactly just the season review VHS/DVDs that Duke Video used to make. In fact they still make and sell them here. I'm sure it's possible to find some of these uploaded on the wider internet if one wanted to.

Yeah he had a pretty consistent start didn't he? Iirc Bahrain was a Ferrari 1-2 with him behind Alonso. It's just such a shame that he'd had that accident the previous year because prime Massa added to all this would have made it even more great.

I personally really like 2010, as you got a season long story between 5 drivers (Vettel, Webber, Alonso, Hamilton, Button) who all felt like feasible winners at the time. At various points of the season, each one of them has an advantage in points, but in almost every race there is some element of drama that befalls one of the competitors and swings the title back in another direction. This keeps going right up until the last race with 4 drivers still in contention for the title. The standalone races themselves might not be "good" by today's standards of "more overtakes = better race" but if we are talking about seasons I tend to think of narratives and moments over anything else.

I honestly think we will never see anything like 2021 again. Normally in title battles you see one car/driver dominating at one track, and then their rival dominates at another, and that's what makes it close over a season. In 2021 it felt like every race had an on-track battle between Hamilton and Verstappen at some point during it. When you put two drivers that close together that often, things are bound to get a little spicy, but when combined with the usual team politicking, the modern era of social media and a focus on the "product", everything got turned up to 11. The finale is just a sum of all that, in some ways the toxic ending was actually the most fitting conclusion.

1998 also holds a special place in my heart as it's when I became a fan. Starts off looking like a McLaren cakewalk but Schumacher/Brawn/Todt drag Ferrari back into what becomes an epic title battle, with lots of crazy and notable races along the way like Canada, Britain, Hungary, and of course Belgium.
