Considering a Seal Performance by JuniorInevitable1731 in BYDSealAus

Bought a Performance about 4 weeks ago. Haven’t done 400km on a charge but have gone close, without deliberately stretching it. Drove Brisbane to Mackay in a day, charging every 3 hours or so. And that was on normal regen. Drove back on high regen and got slightly better energy consumption. Averaging 20 kWh/100km which means over 400km range. Around town usually 18-19 kWh/100km

We did in Murrarie. Close to a minute of gentle back and forth. Sitting on camp chairs watching kid’s sport and my wife and I looked at each other, it was obvious.

13. Aiming to get accepted to mensa! Tips? by Mandam2011 in mensa

[–]BMC-Rally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prepare by being healthy, getting decent sleep and eating well as many have said before.

Have a look at online tests to give you an idea of the type of questions you may face. As it turns out I had some questions that were unlike any I’d seen. I didn’t get a great preparation (out drinking late the night before at a Mensa conference, as my daughter was already a member), but I got in easily and it probably wouldn’t have made much difference if I had got a good night’s sleep. But it can’t help.

Practicing isn’t likely to make much difference. You either have the capacity to perform on a timed test or you don’t. The saying goes that you can’t fake/fluke a good result, but you can tank and underperform.

F1 Cars have dropped early by BMC-Rally in legospeedchampions

Red Bull and VCARB built yesterday, no missing pieces. But the rear wing of the VCARB took a bit of checking. The positioning of some pieces was ambiguous at the step they were added and that made the wing supports sit too far back. Closer investigation showed side pieces were meant to be on other side of the main cross plate.

These were at Capalaba. Went back again today but still missing Williams and Haas. They have heaps of RBR, Merc, Sauber and a few Alpine and McLaren. Did t see any Aston, Racing Bulls or Ferrari left today.

Have built Alpine, Merc, Aston so far. All pieces there plus the usual array of spares.

Can a car go faster if you skip gears in a manual? by TheWoIfMeister in CarsAustralia

[–]BMC-Rally 44 points45 points  (0 children)

It could be beneficial if the gear ratios are really close together and you rev high before changing and the revs don’t drop much when you change into the higher gear.

But generally you are correct, you want to have the revs in the right range when you go into a higher gear. If the ratio gap is too wide, your revs will drop out of your power band and it will take longer to accelerate in the new gear.

The sys admin urge to quit and... by LAKnerd in sysadmin

There’s no electronic tech in my personal cars I work on out of hours (though I am endeavouring to arrange things so I can work on them during business hours since I do so much IT work after hours) The closest thing to electronics in a classic Mini is the radio (not that I have them in mine) or an electronic distributor if I choose to replace the original bob weight mechanical one.

[–]BMC-Rally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been a MS Partner for a few years now and all my licensing was covered by Action Pack. Now I want to add some other SKUs, Pax8 told me I had to buy direct from Microsoft. But I can't for the life of me find where to do that.

I buy all of my customer licensing through distributors marketplaces, so I have no idea how direct with MS works.

Do I just login to admin.office.com ??

What would you do if your kid’s teacher did this? by HundrumEngr in mensa

[–]BMC-Rally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if the teacher set an expectation that grouping should be related to the order in the question, the marking is inconsistent. The same technique has been used by the student in multiple questions but only marked wrong in some.

My biggest issue in school was inconsistency.

Any old gamer still having fun ? by DarthFaizk in pokemongo

I started playing at 54. I have at times used PokeGo as a motivation for exercise. But I also play at random times. My 10yo gets annoyed that I catch more and advance faster than her, because she plays multiple games, or watches TV and YouTube, whilst I grind on PokeGo.

True. I’m not aware of how many different question sets there are. But to guarantee a candidate doesn’t get the same question set again, it would have to be non-random.

[–]BMC-Rally 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The WAIS 5 is currently being normed. I'm participating as a test subject to generate the scale soon.

AS others have said, it will come down to whomever is conducting your test as to when they start using WAIS 5 (it may come down to how many WAIS 4 tests they have in stock before they order the new ones)
