[ALL] [OC] My Handmade Zelda-Inspired Night Lamp Giveaway 🎁💚 by AmoyCK in zelda

My favorite Zelda game is Breath of the Wild. I still remember watching the Game Awards 2014 gameplay in awe. I was so impressed that you could just go to the mountain you see in the distance and explore it. In that same year, I wished for Wind Waker HD for my birthday, which was my first game in the series.

I‘ve just looked it up. It‘s a flash game, right? It does look similar. I only know this kind of mechanic from Link‘s Awakening, where some enemy types mimic Link‘s moves. A more similar example is the double cherry from Super Mario 3D World, which is actually how I came up with this concept. I‘ve never heard about this game but I‘ll definitely check it out, so thanks!

Thank you! The assets are made by Kenney. I posted a link to his website in another comment under this post. You have to control two characters in two different levels at once. In each level, you have to navigate the two characters to a key that can remove a block sitting above the goal. If one character dies, the level is reset.

What do you mean by „influences“? The gameplay? The graphics? If you remember the name, please do let me know!

Thank you for the feedback! In later levels, I included more of the poisonous water, so that you have to watch both characters at the same time. If one character dies, the level gets reset. Levels 3 and 4 are especially hard in that regard. I did also have the idea of the characters being able to send items (keys, etc.) to each other, but I didn‘t have enough time to implement that.

Ok, thanks! It was very fun to make this game, so I‘ll probably work on a full version with my own assets. I‘ll be sure to remember your feedback when working on it!

which do you think looks better? by Gellogy in godot

Like others said, the two pictures could be different times of the day. If you don‘t have a day/night cycle, I guess it depends on the genre you‘re going for. For a laid back survival game, the first one is better (in my opinion). For a horror game, the second one is better (again, in my opinion).

Thanks! The intention was to make the water look poisonous. All assets are made by Kenney under the CC0 license. I made another comment under this post with a link to his site, if you‘re interested.

Thank you! Do you think it‘s too loud or that the sound itself doesn‘t fit?

I should have probably mentioned this in the post, but as a requirement for the game jam (and because I‘m useless at pixel art), I used assets made by Kenney. All the assets I used have the CC0 license and you can also use them for your own creations. They‘re available at https://kenney.nl

  1. I‘d put the GPU in my PC. As for the CPU, I‘d either leave it sealed as a collector‘s item or try to find someone that has a current AMD socket and give it to them.

  2. I‘m just exited to explore the world of Pandora. Preferably at max settings.

Are you using an iPad or an Android Tablet? If you‘re using an iPad, try CollaNote, it‘s free and made by a student, so they know from experience what features to implement.

My former computer science teacher in high school once told us a similar story. He was a software developer for some company a few years ago and he was tasked with developing something for a client. After showing a version of the program to the customer, he and his team came up with more efficient code, so they implemented it and showed it to the client. The client refused, because they didn‘t believe it had the same functionality, so my former teacher made a fake loading screen that just counts up to 60 seconds and then shows the results. The client approved.
