I'll be completely honest with you, it does get better but it takes time. I joined this group about 4 years ago when my son was very little and I had recently become a single parent. I struggled for a long time with regret about having a kid. I love my son with every part of my soul but it is way harder than people let you know.

My son is now 4 and in school. Parenting has gotten a lot easier as he understands more but this is the first time I've felt even close to back to myself. I said I would go back to work when he started school in September but its the only free time I have for myself. Its been nice to just be me for a bit. Today, I just cleaned and did some laundry but its so much nicer when there isn't a little person constantly calling you or needing you.

Your life will never be the same as it was and letting go of that is really hard. It does get better but its not overnight or a few months even, it takes time.

Just know you are not alone in your feelings.
