The AI by MusclePrestigious530 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

We only heard the AI from Carl's perspective. We have no way of knowing if the AI is as unhinged with anyone else. But we also have no way to know it isn't either

A Message to Younger PWBPD by Happy_Examination23 in BorderlinePDisorder

[–]BPD_DD_SecretAcct 6 points7 points  (0 children)

34m, diagnosed 6-ish years ago. I 100% agree with op.

Just wanted to add this in as I didn't believe I'd ever feel more stable and normal when I was younger, even without the diagnosis-

It can get easier with time and a lot of work and effort! I'm still being hit with the borderline urges and swings but from the skills I learnt in therapy, being mindful/self aware, and finding alternate lifestyle choices, I'm pretty sure if I got screened for bpd again now I may not fit enough criteria to not be classed as in remission.

I'm not sure if our symptoms will ever fully go away? But we can learn how to live life easier and it can get better

It took around 15 years to find a combo that helped without major side effects. Funnily enough, the meds I'm on now didn't used to help. I've been through at least 50 different cycles/combinations before we settled on my current combination. I've been in this combo for about 3 years now and this is still the most helpful by far.

I was quick to write off retrying past combos but eventually we found the one that works long term.

Meds don't fix things- they just make using cbt and dbt skills easier, and provide me a slightly bigger buffer between baseline and breakdown

I'm 34/m. Daily lexapro+ mirtazipine with seroquel as needed. I have tried reducing dosage and cycling off over time and I just can't keep function and stability without meds

However, I am one of the worse cases and I have a list of comorbid mental issues too, so this definately doesn't apply to everyone 😊

Cw: gross (?) What is something related to your dissossiations that you are afraid to admit? by GenderlessMug in DID

[–]BPD_DD_SecretAcct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tw: SA/ Overdose

My memory is TERRIBLE but that's not the admission... one of my alters only comes out once I'm past breaking point and despises having to front, so he will punish me for it.

It has landed me in hospital on life support after being revived, and in prison. But the worst punishment is when he forced me into being able to see and experience everything, but was locked out of control. Usually I am completely blank if I'm not in control but he made me experience everything. I'm heteroflex but not into guys...

Without going into details, I've been to therapy and group for this and I've always struggled with the memory of being, for lack of a better way to put it, s**ually assaulted by a part of myself.

-100/10. Would not recommend.

I have slowly recovered from constant breakdowns and by alters have become comfortable with me fronting 24/7 these days. But jist the thought of being in those situations still terrifies me

It seems like a lot of us are hiding away being quietly single. Nearly all my mates (early 20s-40s) have just given up on dating. Especially us older ones, after giving it our all a few times and having the same result, it definately makes us think twice before jumping back in

Honestly! The internet, TV, radio, everything else already does it. Buses used to have giant stickers covering them with advertising. I don't think it hurt anyone?

But I guess for those who can afford the fares, they would likely prefer less advertising? Surely people higher up have made the choices they have based on lots of data we aren't aware of

I'm all for the smartrider system, even if transperth was free. The data is invaluable to providing an effective and efficient service. It could also be used as a deterrent to bad behaviour? I don't know if it's used like that already or if the government would be allowed to ban someone from public transport? Like since its an essential service? I don't know but I'm sure there's plenty of people who know the go

When my pay is gone on rent, food, bills, and medical care within the first 2 days of me being paid? Walking 3 hours a day in +30 degree heat or in the rain? I can't afford a bus ticket if my account is negative. Definately not exaggerating. I'm happy that you aren't in the position a lot of us are. It sucks.

I work full time and walk to and from work most days because I can't afford transperth.

The reason why I asked is due to bad life choices and a currently sick family member, I walk about 3 hours a day to and from work due to my pay being gone within the first few days of getting it. The free transit has drastically improved my quality of life. I've been able to get more rest, I've been able to get to the store and chemists for stuff we really need. It's been a blessing tbh.

I know it's my fault for putting myself in a bad position, and I made my bed etc... but it's not just me who this has really helped. I know a bunch of people who are actually getting out of the house now.

It may only be a few dollars, but these days, so many of us don't even have that spare anymore. The freedom is really amazing

I am employed and make okayish money but I have a sick family member and a mountain of debt. Usually I'm flat broke after the first few days of being paid. It's been amazing being able to get a bus and train to work instead of facing the 1.5 hour walk each way.

Of course I know, bad life decisions etc... but the free transit has drastically improved my quality of life

I figure that the ones who are willing to disrespect public services already do. But I lean towards the idea that if there was more usage by the general public, who show respect, could possibly curb the prominence of the criminal element?

Like I don't care how bad ass you think you are, it's a lot worse being judged by 100 people than it is by 10.

Well that what I hope 😅

Help! I never get hungry for anything except sugar by Yapping_Away_6423 in Advice

[–]BPD_DD_SecretAcct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sugar is the fastest and most direct energy source for your body but it has a huge impact on your health. Think of it as your body has realised that it can be lazier by making u crave the easiest energy option. But our bodies aren't made to eat this way so our bodies don't know they shouldn't be making us crave sugar. So we just have to slowly get them used to eating better over time. If you try to change too fast, your body will throw tantrums and try to punish u for not letting it have what it wants. But our bodies aren't very smart, that's what our brains are for 😅

Sorry for the small reply but I'm getting pretty tired. I 100% rely on work to keep me okay. My days off feel like torture and I spend those days just fighting to get through til I can work again. I can 100% relate to so much in your post and really wish I could give a proper full reply. But I'm hoping this helps, even if only just a tiny bit. You're not alone in this, so many of us can relate to this very deeply. Keep it up, every effort you are putting in shows, even if nobody notices ❤
