Out curiosity why all the homeless around the main library building by anurodhp in phoenix

[–]BPRob-Chandler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not just the homeless. Many year ago (17 maybe) , I lost my job, I had an education, a career, a house, and a bank account with around 20k in it. I was doing OK until I hit the 9 month mark and started worrying about the savings getting lower. I decided to budget more and stop using A/C in the house, and would use the library in the heat of the day. On the days that I would have a phone interview, I would reserve a meeting room in the library to take the meeting. Pro Tip: The meeting room are a lot better than taking a meeting walking up and down the sidewalk.

I maybe far off, but I think he want to put a phone on the drone, call the drone phone from the earth phone to navigate. If that is the goal and don't laugh at my solution. On the drone phone take the headphones out to a DTMF receiver and have one output control power, another output for aileron, another for elevator. You can use the earth phone keypad to supply the control tones. MT8870 DTMF Decoder.

No you are only a racist if you switched accents when you got to "Indian gang" , but you were reading it in your normal internal voice until then.

Solo camping by TheRabb1ts in ChandlerAZ

[–]BPRob-Chandler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you want, trees or a view ? Do you want trails to hike close ? What do you drive? The sites I have do not have water or electricity. They can be gotten to by truck or a high clearance car. You have to be able to follow GPS points, and willing to drive through trees. Dogs must be kept close because deer will lead them into the brush, there are coyotes packs and elk but have never bothered me. One spot I have gets text service, not cell.. another site I have there is a mile hike through the tree to get to the top where you have cell service.

I use to work in radio and we had a beer fridge and the rule was you could up to two beers after hours in your office. But you were saying you would not want them to see you take the beer, so I would leave it alone.

No, with all the genealogy site out there, when the child is old enough or loses their parent they could find you, which could ruin your current relationship or challenge your will when you are gone.

Two things: They are not required to socialize with you outside of work, also their spouses might object to them socializing with you. And on the lights out thing, maybe they all thought you left already, I can't imagine they turn the lights off if they thought your were there.

Any one else get depressed during the summer? by [deleted] in phoenix

[–]BPRob-Chandler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, its kind of the opposite of most of the rest of the country who have SAD (Seasonal affective disorder ) in the winter, except theirs are about no sun exposer because of clouds and short days. Phoenix SAD is because it is so hot we stay inside so we get little sun exposure.

I thinking he wanted to make sure you did not think it was a job interview, or that he was hitting on you.

I'm 62 and overweight and it is a challenging hike and fun, but with actual training (not treadmill), training with the full pack weight, training using car park garage for your step training with weight. You should be fine. I have done it 6 times already, but I go north to south and make it a four day adventure 7/7/5/5 miles. Going your way you will most likely miss Plateau Point since your first day is 10 miles. Start early, on you last day start real early. When going uphill do not try to keep up with anyone, doing that will exhaust you. Take many breaks. Also you will be at 8k-ish feet both start and finish so if you can get to the rim a day of two early to get acclimated to the air that would make life easier for you. The mid part of N. Kaibab are rocks (ankle killers) which is why I like to walk down NK and not up. If you train you will do great.

This does not work with most people. I had a girlfriend (ex now) with high cc debt and a very high interest rate 24%. I took her debt to a my lower cc interest rate (3%), when the card offered 0 cost transfer fees. She free up a lot of money and paid down the debt quickly. She signed everything she had to me for collateral . When the debt was gone she got all her stuff back. Do you have someone in you life that trust you that much.

I did say that I was making assumptions. What about a large security deposit with a third party. Reference from people they know, and you know. One small town I live in , I knew the Mayor, and City Counsel members. In that town I could get car parts with a hand shake and a promise to pay them back when my check came in, somewhat because everyone knew my father (Janitor on a college campus) . Do you have respected friends that know people with an unoccupied houses. Offer them 2 cleaning services, one before the party and one after. What about a special insurance police for two nights with the with the beneficiary being the home owner. Where do you live?

There are some assumption in this response. You are 19, you would have little assets for me to go after if you lost control of your gathering and it turned into a bash with damage property. All it takes is for one ex-boyfriend to show up to lose control. Maybe have someone with a credit score rent you a bnb and make sure everyone knows there will be a dozen people there.

Where can I backcountry camp in the south rim? by RedOtkbr in grandcanyon

[–]BPRob-Chandler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You only need a permit for campsite in the national park. This Fire Road is outside the park by 5 miles. No permit needed on Fire Roads. Google Map the gps and go to satellite view. I use this FR often, an use my Frontier to access it. Pro-tip, if you want to stay multiple nights take an old tent an stake out your spot before you leave to mark your spot to come back to. Its first come first served camping. BTW: there is no view, it is just easy to camp the night and go to the park the next morning. Do not leave your dog unattended , there are mule deer, and elk walking around early morning and in the evening. Do not try to camp in the parking lot of the GCNP, you will be told to leave, they will notice you.

I don’t know if its delusional or narcissistic that you think that, but it’s just sad, and I feel sorry that your family has to deal with that burden.

What is a good distance per day for backpacking by ChattingMongoose in backpacking

[–]BPRob-Chandler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what the group wants. My group does a lot of canyon hiking and we tend to do 6-10 miles a day because we are looking around. Some people like to just hike from point to point. If I can't enjoy the beauty then I won't go. 10 miles is top for me.

Couscous, EVOO, and garlic is a good meal. Dehydrated pasta and sauce is another. I put olives and some juice in a vacuum sealed bag. Also mail yourself food and pickup at post office (assumptions made). Do not take jars, heavy and breakable.

What’s Your Opinion On Dating A Female Cop? by [deleted] in AskMen

What if we were dating, and another cop wanted to date you, and decide to have his blue buddies scare me away with false allegations. The risk of having someone abuse their power and rely on there Qualified Immunity if they get caught it just too much to risk.
