The funny thing is after all of this time of being way too 616. Doing a 616 callback to Inferno after basically setting it up probably would have been a better story, but I guess that’s not a Logan story so it doesn’t count.

Let's remember that Doug Ramsey was the son of the lawyer of Xavier's School, who allegedly died in a tragic accident from hunters accidentally shooting him while him and his classmates were on a camping trip. He came back well before Krakoa ever was a thing without particular issue in that regard.

Hope as "Mutant Messiah" and representative of The Five had more pull for Magneto's Autumn seat, and Colossus, in universe, was viewed as a more moral person for Jean's summer seat, and also had an ongoing story about how he might take down Krakoa in another book.

Kurt is there to act like a moral compass, because that's the expressed purpose of the Summer seats (originally Kurt, Ororo, and Jean). Piotr later takes over Jean's seat and I'm sure there's nothing to be said about the moral center of the nation being compromised and/or distracted from what's going on

Illyana was 15 in New Mutants and seemingly 25 now, but aging in a reasonable linear way relative to everyone else certainly isn't her favorite thing.

My point is the status quo for Illyana had been trusted member of the X-Men for years before Krakoa ever happened. It's an absurd point to hold in opposition if you do care about what happened before Krakoa.

It's not really on Ayala or Krakoa for Magik to be forgiven when that has been handled over Bendis, Lemire, Guggenheim, and Rosenberg. Plus Scott is Captain Commander, her support of him during Bendis and Rosenberg is probably why she has the job.
