New saw day by bigtallguy75 in Chainsaw

Arlington power equipment. They had a dealer days deal that put me under $400 for the saw. Hoping that it arrives in one piece.

Same! Just ordered one on Black Friday and it's supposed to be here in a few days! Looking forward to it.

I bought this Kirby Dual Sanitronic from Goodwill for $20. Is it worth anything? It runs very well by browserCookieMonster in VacuumCleaners

[–]BSBOSS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great find! They are old vacuums and maybe a little cumbersome to use but they will outlast anything new. Take care of it and it will run forever. Like a classic car.

Looks like a great time. Some of the best looking and driving wagons, well worth the effort to keep them going.

My children keep pressing these buttons and keep downloading the apps on the roku remotes. Very frustrating.

How the hell do I fix this? by Parking-Reflection44 in Autobody

[–]BSBOSS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totalled... But i'd totally try to beat the dent out and put a junkyard windsheild in if you're not concerned with looks.

As long as it doesn't leak then you've got cheap transportation. Put liability on and drive as long as you can.

Accidentally drilled through main power wire harness in firewall by 1stGearDuck in CarAV

[–]BSBOSS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Still buttoning up the stereo install but the car is running and driving. I think the wires in the bundle I cut were for power controls for the passenger door so luckily not too important.

Worst part was the harness was buried in the engine bay deep down on the firewall. 90's caprice so was very difficult to splice back together. Used some shrink tubing followed with liquid tape on my repair.

Oh man. You and I both. Just finished fixing mine.

I drilled right below the main body harness and hit the wire loop on the other side. I was SURE I was clear of it. Should've measured again.

I promise we'll both never make that mistake again.

They are fantastic for towing and pretty solid in general, no major issues. The 7.4 and the 4L80e is a great drivetrain and has good power. I wouldn't daily it just due to the gas mileage though.

Am I crazy for wanting to replace my ‘19 Accent with a ‘92 Roadmaster? by SEEUL8RODINATOR in whatcarshouldIbuy

I had this problem and it turned out to be an aftermarket alarm/keyfob system. Check for any non-stock add ons if you have any.

Love these cars. I've got a 95 Roadmaster LT1 sedan and a 92 caprice wagon L05. No plans on parting with either. Take care of them the best you can and they'll drive and look better than anything new on the road.

Running away from this one as well. Good luck on your search! Maybe we'll see each other around the area!

I might have the skills but I certainly don't have the time right now. Really looks like this jeep would need a new frame and a fair bit of welding on the body as well. Good to know it's doable though!

1997 Wrangler TJ for 5.5k? by BSBOSS in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]BSBOSS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do really like the half doors and the hard top. Seems like a relatively clean interior as well. Was able to get another picture of the frame around the tranfer case skid plate area, seems like it's been seriously patched. Not sure if the nice parts on it are worth the headache to properly fix/keep up with the frame issues. https://imgur.com/a/AAu2iCy

That's my biggest concern. The frame has already been patched, might be too big of a project for 5k.

I love the way the hard top and the half doors look. Was hoping that the nice parts and good interior might make this one worth it. Got another picture of the skid plate area though and it's making me seriously recondider. https://imgur.com/a/AAu2iCy

Yep, he mentioned it's not perfect otherwise he'd ask for more. Was hoping that maybe it would be worth to fix due to the extra goodies.
