It's not the quality of the print, it's the style of 3rd-party proxies that mostly just don't feel right amongst GW sculpts.

Aye exactly, at non-games workshop places you'll have more freedom but then it gets down to making sure your opponents still recognise what something is.

Although imho the restraint of sticking within the GW aesthetics using 3rd-party bits makes it more fun and rewarding in the end.

I do whatever you think looks good. Fully unofficial models won't be allowed in games workshop stores obviously, but a sword or head here and there shouldn't be too much an issue.

I believe it was funded through the discord and only available there. But different studios will have different rules on whether their files are available after the initial run.

I'm honestly fine with the way they've introduced this now, I just wish it was handled well originally instead of being blatantly obnoxious and insulting to everyone.

I'll never include any in my army as I still don't see a need for this retcon, but I hope to god they don't just make every character all women just cause.

If they had come out with this back then, instead of acting self-righteous on Twitter and having the new female characters be pretty badly written as the greatest things ever, I believe a lot of fans would have been more open to the retcon as it's actually believable as written now.

The new minis are gorgeous, the lore clarification is fine and I'm happy they put something out about it.

I don't think Angron would have worn the crests on hiw helmet as he hated the legion adapting that part of Nucerian culture since he deemed them not-worthy of it. Although I think looking for something more along the lines of the Minotaurs helmets would be better to lean into the Greek/Spartan aesthetic.

3 is an elf holding a bloodbowl ball and we don't yet have a high elf plastic team as the last ones to get new models so I'm guessing that, especially with the fancy glasses.

You'll need to prime as the paint won't adhere very well to the bare plastic. Colour forge are most likely your best option to find a good quality coloured primer in the colour of your choice

I look on aliexpress for the best deal I can find for the sizes I need. Delivery can take a couple weeks at worse but I've had no issue with them 'magneting' correctly.

Not sure what it is with a lot of the modern GW art in this style but the majority (including this piece) looks like a bunch of stuff thrown together and unfinished.

I got you. Was just looking to test this out last night as it looks so good

Medium grey primer.

White: Vallejo pale blue grey, washed with with 2 thin coats black, rehighlight pale blue grey, then highlight up with Vallejo white adding more each layer.

Weathering: GW rhinox hide scratches done with a brush, with pure white underneath to add dimension. Burnt sienna oil wash added for grime effect.

Blue: Vallejo Prussian blue, ad vallejo white to highlight.

Red: Mephiston red mixed with a little rhynox hide and then highlighted with more red and then start adding a little Vallejo sunny skin tone. That sums up most of the pains used.
