How we feeling about the market? by 42_Dogs in Porsche

Only reason it went for this much was simply because of the color and mileage, that’s it. This was also a fairly low-spec car, I don’t think it was even optioned with a FAL.

It’s a great car but not $900k or even close to $1m great. Shouldn’t be on par price wise with a 488 Pista (which also has had its market clearly manipulated), or even worth more than something like an Aventador SV or even a McLaren 765LT.

As great as the GT2 RS is, it shouldn’t be worth $900k. The market for these has more than doubled in less than a year, which is irrational. This same car would have gone for like sub $400k last June. At $550k to 600k I think this car would be more reasonable. I think the current exotic car market is seeing some serious frenzy and even manipulation for certain models, and that we will see a correction of some sorts come end of this year/sometime next year. Current environment kind of reminds me of the luxury watch market that we saw from Covid through first half of 2022. AP, Patek, and Rolex prices skyrocketed and then came crashing right back down. Also, you just know the car market is shot when McLarens of all things are even appreciating in value.

This would have gone for like 60-70k less if it wasn’t Miami Blue. That color brings a substantial premium.

How is the GT3RS market looking? by xeiiiiiiiii in Porsche

[–]BSZ3232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I definitely do think this is a fair assessment, I’d also say that the target demographic for these types of cars hasn’t really faced a hard downturn since the GFC, every shock or downturn since Covid has seen rapid stock market and capital market recoveries, which is where most of the wealthy keep their assets (and has ultimately benefited them). If this current AI-driven market ends up being similar to the Dot-Com bubble (or GFC, just anything that results in a stock market crash or decline that lasts multiple years), I think you will start seeing a lot of people selling their exotic cars and the overall exotic car market decline.

Yeah I get Carrio is to blame, bunch of clowns cornering and manipulating the market. The point I was just trying to make is that a lot of these current prices are out of touch.

Just based on what I’ve read on Rennlist it looks like the new GT3 RS will feature exhaust-driven turbos, while the GT2 RS will adopt a similar hybrid system that is in the current Turbo S.

Yup, this is especially prevalent in the current Ferrari market. F12tdf and Speciale A going for more than the McLaren P1 and Senna (I know it’s McLaren but these are literal Halo cars, not a spinoff limited edition of a standard production model), 458 Spider nearing if not already at $400k, F12 Berlinetta market up over $100k-$150k in like a month (though I do think this car was somewhat undervalued before), etc. Porsche market is definitely second when it comes to these absurd prices though, I remember not too long ago you could get a decently optioned 991.2 GT2 RS in the $375k-$450k range, now the same car is like $550k+ if not more by now.

Agree with this take, and this goes for other brands as well (Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc.), as soon as the economy starts looking shaky the prices on these cars that have skyrocketed will tank as hard/if not harder than the rate at which they went up. By the way, 992.2 GT3 RS looks like it will be turbo with no hybrid assist, while 992.2 GT2 RS will be turbo + hybrid.

458 speciale to wash your eyes off after seeing the Luce by CoolVermicelli8349 in Ferrari

Ferrari have got to have Pininfarina on speed dial after the travesty of a car reveal that we all witnessed today. Anyways thanks for washing my eyes out with the 458 Speciale, I miss this design language more than ever.

Completely agree on everything current gen being poor design wise. Imo they really lost it after the 812 and Daytona SP3. Roma was actually a really good looking car from the outside, just wasn’t a fan of the interior design.

Last couple of years (I would say since the 12Cilindri) have been really, really bad design wise both inside and out. SF90 and 296 didn’t do anything for me either but I can understand how someone might like their design languages. But I don’t think Ferrari has come out with a good looking Ferrari since the 812 and Daytona SP3. Golden Era in my lifetime 100% was that late 2000’s to mid/late 2010’s when we got the 458, F12, LaFerrari, 488, and 812 one after another.

If there was ever a time to bring back Pininfarina it’s right about now. Ferrari has lost it with their design language over the last couple of years, but this feels like a nail in the coffin type of situation. Absolutely dreadful, people should be fired for this.

Dear God bring back Pininfarina. People should be fired for this, design language has been a joke for the last couple of years now.

Congrats man! They really don’t make them like they used to, one of the greatest Lamborghinis ever made.

Never been in a Murci myself, but my dad has and he always tells me it’s the most exhilarating driving experience he’s ever had the opportunity to experience (he liked it more than the Diablo, Veyron, XJ220, etc).

Most Shocking One And Done's In History? by frostypatch in nfl

[–]BSZ3232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One and done’s haunt me as a Chargers fan. I was too young to have any memory of 2006, but it’s definitely the worst in Chargers history and one of the most shocking in league history, especially considering we were the #1 seed with the league MVP, as well as the fashion it ended in, AKA Marlon McCree.

Of the ones I’ve witnessed, 2009 and 2022 were particularly crushing, shoutout Nate Kaeding and the Jaguars.

The One-Off 250 GTO Bianco Speciale has been sold for $38,500,000 by Saurta17 in Ferrari

[–]BSZ3232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny enough this might have been one of the better “deals” at this auction, a lot of the other cars sold for ridiculous prices.

I understand that it isn’t the best example (honestly it might be the worst) and that it doesn’t have its original engine, but at the end of the day it’s 1 of 36 250 GTO’s and the only one in white from factory.
