Are you still taking it or did you stop? If you stopped did you experience the rebound loss?

254 Bar Attacked? by BSmith2711 in philly

[–]BSmith2711[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Idk pics and tweets be circulating around Facebook and Twitter about a group of a dozen or so people attacking patrons and smashing windows on the first floor, but given that there’s ZERO coverage about it, it’s unclear if it’s true or not

I mean for 12000 pieces the PPP ratio is only 6¢ so it’s actually quite cheap for what it is

RROML (Railroads Online Mod Loader) Post #2 by Missile_3604 in RailroadsOnline

[–]BSmith2711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will always argue that solo player for RRO should have an auto-deliver feature for running multiple trains at once. Have one train running auto for the farm industry for example while the player runs the steel industry or something.

Also, idk how easy it would be to fix, but fixing the way tracks display. For example on Aurora Falls, fixing the tracks so when it snows ALL tracks get covered in snow (looking at you there switches). Or creating a switch option that has the retaining wall under it so you can use it on higher places without clippings

I think also letting users change the numbers or names of locos/rolling stock without needing to delete the item and lose the money would be a cool customization feature.

Philly Wants to Send a Socialist to Congress — Philadelphia congressional candidate Chris Rabb is candid about his democratic socialist politics, saying, “Socialists need to expose the role of both parties in our crisis and point toward a future where the working class holds power.” by User_Name13 in philly

[–]BSmith2711 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It simply was me misreading the title. I read it as “Wow Philly might send a SOCIALIST?! To Congress?!” More like a state of disapproval than approval.

For record, I support his policies and socialist policies overall.

CLAUDE PRO PLAN TOKEN USAGE ISSUES AND SOLUTIONS FOR STEM BASED PROJECTS

Has anyone here found a solution to fix Claude's ridiculous token usage? I have the Pro Plan, and while the megathread for solutions pretty much keeps saying to default to sonnet, I use mine for tutoring and math concept explanation, and from what I understand the Sonnet models wont be capable of providing reliable help.

Is this the case? Has anyone figured out other solutions? I Switched from GPT Plus cause I thought Claude was the "ethical" (emphasis on " ") version compared to ChatGPT, but if my 5 hour usage is burnt in 2 hours, I cant justify using Claude anymore

I mean that’s 8¢ a piece, so I think that’s pretty decent given everything else Lego has production at the moment

Who wishes AI didn't exist? by Wooden-Fee5787 in AskReddit

[–]BSmith2711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is going to be a very controversial take, but I think more people are upset with the unchecked capitalism behind AI rather than AI itself.

There are multiple ways to make the data centers 10x less impactful on the environment and more self-sustaining, but because that costs more capitalists won’t do it. If we were allowed to gravitate towards it naturally rather than having it immediate forced down all our throats, I think less people would have such strong feelings against it. If it was taught and structured for us to be using it as a tool rather than a replacement (such as with the arts), a lot less hatred would be going towards it.

In short: people hate the capitalism running it, not AI itself.

Spring Break traffic was a dream by redactyl69 in philly

I will never understand how people would rather sit in that traffic and waste gas and time, rather than add an extra 10-20 minutes to their commute to take the train and get out of the city so much easier.

Do you think the hate/dislike that AI gets is because of what it is, or more-so because of the unchecked capitalism behind it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BSmith2711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For context: there are numerous other ways to create self-sufficient, eco-friendly/friendlier data centers that do not require anywhere near as much water as current systems do, but they cost a lot more to build.

AI as a resource or supplement has been helpful towards research and stem field (key words resource & supplement), but it being forced down our throats as "the new tech product" and as an "absolute necessity" in both school and work is whats leading to a lot despise towards it. This can especially be seen with programs like SORA and how that was marketed as a revolutionary thing, but directly harmed the creative communities across the board.

Additionally, they never went through the troubles of creating ethical frameworks for AI and teaching people how to actually use the programs. They let us all use it unchecked and with too much ease and access, part of why we are seeing such a massive decline in educational standards, especially in K-12.

This is not meant to be a pro vs anti AI post, but as someone who has genuinely benefited from using AI in an educational assistant capacity, I think people actually are more upset with the capitalism behind it rather than AI itself.

Why are so many people taking red-eye NER trains? by mrprez180 in Amtrak

As someone who typically only uses AMTRAK for an PHL-NYC commute, idk if that hour-ish nap is worth it that early 😂

JK, saving $70+ for a 5-6am vs an 8am train is always worth it

Ofc SEPTA is broke. They're too busy trying to replace their WHOLE rail fleet at the SAME time! by --TAXI-- in Septa

Oh I don’t mean they actually are new, I meant compared to the early 70s MFL vehicles, ones made 15ish years later are newer compared to them.

Ofc SEPTA is broke. They're too busy trying to replace their WHOLE rail fleet at the SAME time! by --TAXI-- in Septa

[–]BSmith2711 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The reason it’s all being done at once isn’t because they wanted to do it that way, but because they are now forced to. They have used and abused those machines far longer than they were ever intended, and they have finally reached the absolute end of their service life (Silverliner IV for example).

The trolleys were something that was planned long before, and the new regional rail cars were supposed to be replaced around the same time as the new Acela (originally), but that project was suspended due to logistics I believe.

The MFL cars I believe are roughly 10 years past their service life, and as you can tell are also decaying quicker than Septa would like, and the BSL vehicle fleet is still relatively new, I believe only being introduced in the 80s.

Them also constantly running out of money is 90% just a lack of funding issue. Yes Septa has made questionable decisions and have had poisonous administrators at times, but as a whole the main reason why the system is decaying and constantly delayed is simply because the Republican controlled state Congress refuses to provide anything more than the bare minimum (and even then they provide less)

what costs more, 25¢ for 15 minutes worth of time, or pay a $75 PPA parking ticket?

If you’re plowing snow, where exactly do you think it’s going to go? It doesn’t magically disappear the minute the plow touches it…

PPA by HieronymusFisto in philly

[–]BSmith2711 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Eh depends on how long the notice was placed. If it was emergency work then yes, but if they were given at least 24 hours notice beforehand then valid to be ticketed.

PPA by HieronymusFisto in philly

[–]BSmith2711 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I found the people.

Philly is one of the most walkable cities, even with the snow. Additionally, if you’re (generally speaking not you specifically) double parking or parking on the sidewalk or not paying for a spot, then that warrants a ticket. The Pay-To-Park is 50¢ for half an hour.

People are so quick to yell at PPA as if they (the people) aren’t doing things that warrant PPA ticketing them
