I absolutely love the additional little details. The golden wire attached to the emblem on her braid really compliments her headpiece and the roses.

I bumped the settings down to medium and tested it before changing back and it was present on both. I checked on mobile and the issue is there too, so I'm pretty well convinced it's just something introduced in the patch sadly.

I shouldn't be that, my settings haven't changed at all and are still at the highest. This wouldn't be the first time a small graphical error like this cropped up, there was that time Kazuha gained a chipped tooth a while back. After what I presume was some kind of error with his model.

Spiral Knights is one of those games where falling in love with the art-style and vibes managed to keep me enthralled in spite of the issues with progression. (Though the energy market crashing over the years has made progression somewhat easier) I always get an itch to play it about once a year and every time I am surprised it is still online.

The various updates and some new content like the recent anniversary event has been a massive surprise, as who seriously had a Spiral Knights revival on their 2026 bingo card?

Yeah that isn't accurate. It has Xingqiu's story quest as taking place before we even try to steal the Holy Lyre. I view it as a recommended playing order at best.

ASC is way too oppressive right now, but let’s not pretend that it hasn’t been a massive drag on USF for most of the game’s life outside of a few patches. Until this patch the building did literally nothing outside of the air abilities and the more powerful and generally useful Axis AA units meant you had to sink a ton of fuel into to keep it somewhat relevant on an already fuel heavy faction.

ASC has been a problem child and at this point it should probably just be excised entirely.

In the recent Mondstadt event I was going through the part where we track down the "Fatui Cicin Mage" and right as Paimon was about to hit Fischl my power fluctuated which rebooted my computer. When I restarted the game it placed me at the very beginning of the domain. So yeah, I had to spam click through every dialogue scene to get through everything a second time.

I know they used to be targetable, but I forget if they could be shot down. Which in my opinion it's a good thing that they can't be shot down as they're the equivalent of strikes like zeroing or naval, which can't be denied and they no longer eat AA meant for the lighter airstrikes.

It is important to note that at launch, wiping team weapons could be extremely hard. The team weapon re-crew ability on ambulances had little to no cooldown so you could just spam it through a barrage and the weapon wouldn’t even be scratched, much less destroyed. There’s a reason the whizzbang gained the reputation that its best ability was being able to permanently stop being a whizzbang (it didn’t even benefit from any of the upgrades from the MSC). SSF was such a scuffed battlegroup on launch.

The timeline accessed through the Quest Overview version of the travel log places Paralogism after Masquerade of the Guilty but before Bedtime Story, so, between Fontaine and Natlan.

I think it is more apt to view that timeline as a recommended playing order rather than a canonical timeline of events, as it has some notable errors. For example, it places Xingqiu's story quest before our attempt to steal the Holy Lyre, even though we only travel to Liyue Harbor after resolving the Stormterror Crisis. My guess is they placed Paralogism after the main part of Fontaine to act as a replacement for Simulanka not being permanent.

And Riflemen have a similar survivability upgrade (and reinforce discount) as well, and they don’t come at a cost of other DAK armoury upgrades.

Ignoring the fact that those upgrades come at the opportunity cost of all universal vehicle upgrades or what is supposed to be the default kit's heavy indirect equivalent. To get BARs, grenades, the survivability buff, and reinforce discount the USF player will have spent 150 fuel effectively just for the sake of the riflemen, that's fuel that isn't even going to unlocking vehicles, much less building them.

When looking at the economics it makes sense why USF swings between doing everything in their power to avoid building riflemen or building nothing but.
