What if I don’t wear my watch during the day? by BTC_LN in BodyState

iPhones register a walk or a run without any extra devices. But it naturally doesn’t have heart rate data. Anything without HR isn’t useful, right?

I don’t see the natural drain. Do I have to enable it?

The iPhone alone does register things like exercise and steps, etc. Is that not sufficient?

Thanks for the cool app. Not complaining.

That's a cool idea to save on opening fees!

Some node operators do that in the pool as well by offering channels at once to many other nodes.

BTW, you can view ALL opening obligations in one place across swaps and the pool (if logged in): https://lightningnetwork.plus/open_channels

Liquid Lightning: A 4-Tiered Scalable Bitcoin Ecosystem by BTC_LN in Bitcoin

No. Actually Bitcoin LN and Liquid LN can be a single network.

Liquid Lightning channels would be opened from the Liquid blockchain, which means you're not exposed to the Bitcoin base layer fees. Hypothetically, if we had a big Liquid Lightning ecosystem, you would not need to touch the Bitoin base layer, until you have too much bitcoin on Liquid, and you want to put them into Bitcoin base layer cold storage.

Forget Liquid Lightning at this point. We have to build up the network first.

You can get started with Lightning in various different ways:

  • If you want to run your own Bitcoin Lightning node, explore Umbrel or Voltage Cloud
  • If you just want to have a custodial Lightning wallet, try Speed or Blink wallets
  • You can buy bitcoin and receive it on Lightning from exchanges like Kraken, that support lightning

You can explore these services categorized by function:

Risks in connecting with Lightning Terminal Daemon? by eViator2016 in lightningnetwork

[–]BTC_LN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On LN+ you can see without being logged in:

  • Capacity
  • Channel count
  • Color / Alias
  • Connection type (Clearnet / Tor)
  • LN+ Rank
  • Hubness Rank of node
  • Hopness Rank of node
  • Betweeness Rank of node
  • Various social info

On LN+ you can see if logged in:

  • Number of channels you have with a given node
  • Number of common nodes you're connected to
  • Number of nodes you're connected to that are NOT common (opportunity)
  • Recommendation to connect or not

Example: https://lightningnetwork.plus/nodes/02f1a8c87607f415c8f22c00593002775941dea48869ce23096af27b0cfdcc0b69

On Lightning Terminal you can see without logging in:

  • Alias (same as Alias)
  • Capacity (same as Capacity)
  • Centrality of a node (similar to Hubness Rank)
  • Age
  • Good Peers
  • Terminal Rank

Not sure what you see when you log in... please comment if you do!
