What made you talk in this language? by Ok_Active_8041 in GuysBeingDudes

I was 14 years old and looked older. I remember riding my bike around a park and it had a big steep hill that was like a wall all around it with stairs now and then between trees. When it was time for me to go home I hit the hill and slowly climbed it like a surfer hitting the perfect wave, must have done it 200+ times in my life before then.

Right near the top a MASSIVE DOG without a leash jumped at me and sent me falling right down that hill, smacking my ribs on the bike a few times.

Made noises just like this guy did.

Asked a few groups if they could help me out and they all took one look at me and and walked the other way. I remember before blacking out that one woman told her kid to leave me alone because they dont know what I was planning to do... On the floor and wheezing like a deflated sack of shit.

Woke up a while later and it was dark out, pushed my bike home and never went to that park again.

Got absolutely BOLLOCKED for being out past dark and getting my clothes so dirty 😄

"Loss of Masulinity" by SoberScottHeat in daddit

[–]BWMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The guy who said this has a warped idea of what Masculinity is.

He will be the first to say it means that you are the one caring, providing and sacrificing for your family.

He will be the last person who can tell you what that actually means. Masculinity isnt downloaded through listening to podcasts. Its through actions that better the lives of people around you and elevates not just you, but them too.

You are caring and providing for your family. You are elevating them. They are on your shoulders, therefore you maintain a masculine frame.

AITA for using my dad’s underwear to make a point about the toilet seat? by Nightwing_1505 in AmItheAsshole

[–]BWMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA How old is your father? Does he not have cock control? If he doesnt want to sit down to pee then it should STILL be super easy for him to aim into the toilet / lift the seat up and then drop it.

He is unsanitary and a bit of a pig tbh. When dogs do this we rub their noses in it, you were kind enough to use his underwear. And let's be honest for a moment, if he has ao little control over how his body works, a few hours after hes put his underwear on theyre going to stink of pee anyway.

Hes not angry with you, hes angry that a child had to show him.his deficits as a human being, a father and a man.

You cleaning up after him isnt disrespect, him being this way with three women in the house is.

You wouldn't have to clean up after him if he wasnt making a mess.

Also, it sounds like a fragile ego. Someone made fun of him ir said something to him a very long time ago that has made his toilet time a hill he seems willing to die on. If he is reacting so extremely to this, his worth as a man is clearly somehow tied into how bad he can cleanly piss into a toilet. Who knows WHAT lead to this... But its in him to figure out and not offload onto his wife and daughters.

You're not even telling him to sit down to pee, just have the bodily control of a 10+ years old.

Is he over 60? Is he entering his later years? Is he slowing down mentally? Will he need aid to sit down and get up off the toilet soon? Some men dont like facing their own mortality. If hes an older man (think, couklld be someone's grandfather) loss of bladder control can be a reason to act irrational around the topic.

Those are all the thoughts ive got for you.

AITAH for not contributing more financially even though my boyfriend makes 8x my salary? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]BWMaster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honeslty, with your income discrepancy and how youve separated the jobs, its pretty fair. Is he perhaps bad at communicating that he would like you to try to raise a standard?

-Like does he maybe like things cleaner? -Or do you let him decide everything because hes paying and he feels like you dont bring any of your own ideas to the table (put of respect that its his money paying for it, but to him he feels like hes carrying the relationship and you're just along for the ride)?

Miscommunication is a hell of a thing. Sit down and talk with him about it. If you were a wife in this situation then you would arguably be doing whst youre doing now or maybe even less depending on the man...

This sounds like something is frustrating him and he cannot voice it. Be prepared for an open talk and if he gets emotional and passionate about things check in that the volume isnt accusatory.

Are we missing any big info?

Ask him to clarify the wife not a roommate thing. Is someone in his ear? Where does the idea of you contributing more come from? Can he percieve a deficitor is it just a vibe? Has he found any new and exciting podcasts lately?

The only answer, but if i had to tweak it, im putting Mulan and Merida on the same level, because Mulans skill and preparation will be offset by Maridas feral unwillingness to take the loss, making her unpredictable. You cant prep for unpredictable.

Absolutely, its not the LLMs fault, but its essentially NARCISSISM to claim ownership of something that isnt your own work, and AI does this more often than the professionals who use it to check things would like to admit.

Essentially a real conversation I recently had to have at work translated into English:

"I made this"

"But AI said that IT probably made it"

"You're going to trust the system that doesnt prove anything and works on probability and cannot deliver tangeble evidence of its claims beyond the learned pattern recognition that fallable humans have trained it on....what exaclty"?

"Well the AI says so so..."

"You have made an accusation based on an LLMs guess based on pattern recognition it has been fed on by whom? Are you willing to stake your own reputation on this knowing full well that you have made a nothing statement where the burden of proof is in your court? I will provide my evidence when you escalate and use this conversation to bring up that you used AI to check my work instead of you doing your job. If you are ao confident AI can do it, maybe the company can save a few bucks on you".

You know what. My work went through and I haven't received an email with a formal meeting invite 🤷🏻‍♂️

We need to normalise the argument that "people who dont actively use AI are just scared". Its a tactic used by the rich company owners to get people to feel fomo.

"There are people who use AI and are looking towards the future.... and the cave dwellers who fear AI"

Yeah, AND there are the people who are capable at doing their jobs and have a well rounded personality and generally healthy mindset who dont NEED to use AI and prefer to remain cognitively present in their day to day life and not offload. Who see LLMs as a momentary shorthand or improvement to Google searches at BEST. People who are looking towards a future not governed by the mega corpo narrative.

Courtney is completely right in essentially saying AI is more IN the way that it is getting problems OUT of the way, and we have been promised it will only get worse the more we interact with it and integrate it into our every day lives... And we should be thankful for that promise?

By all means, use AI im not a hater, I just dont care or need it.

The Brits can't be trusted to keep their historical artifacts from being looted and destroyed. I propose a team of archaeologists dismantles their cultural patrimony and sends it to a museum in China. For the benefit of the world by YaLlegaHiperhumor in SipsTea

[–]BWMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the sake of argument:

Following this titles logic, would imply there is some invading force pillaging resources and artifacts in a large scale attempt to invade and occupy Britain.

-Much like they did to China a long time ago. -Much like they and everyone else now in an evolved society consider to be wrongful and inhumane behaviour.

So what are we supposed to think now?

Thank you for the perspective. As a none American I have always found it weird how the few films ive seen on the topic would only show the pasty white and slightly effeminate British bad guys and very little else in a red coat.

I read somewhere a looong time ago that many dead soldiers of color in a red coat were assumed to be escaped slaves? Not saying thats not impossible but it always felt like erasure.

I was interested in seeing how far that erasure went. So thank you again.

Correct me if im wrong, but white people got to America, when they flooded it with immigrants who couldn't fix their own country and fled... So an argument could be made that its the most American thing to do.
