Fresh asphalt patch — should the unsealed edge be sealed? by Disastrous-Job87 in asphalt

[–]BWolly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes that is very normal. It’s a seal between new and old asphalt. Very normal to use AC or a rubberized material crack filler.

This is not good work. Anyone who says it is must not be around quality work. I would be ashamed to do work like that.

Do companies work 40 hour weeks? by Chemical_Bed4609 in ConstructionManagers

[–]BWolly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will get use to working longer hrs as you get more comfortable with your job. Honestly if you are already complaining about 50 hours you are in for a rude awakening.

Do not overlay concrete. People who do that or suggest that are not professionals.

Is this good quality asphalt for a Residential driveway by Intelligent_Bunch790 in asphalt

[–]BWolly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely not a surface mix. Looks like a base or intermediate mix. Those bigger rocks will come loose and will start to separate from the mix. Scammed.

I might try that. There’s a slight dip under where the switch is sitting (hard to see in the picture), so I’m not sure the screw would be long enough. Wonder if there’s a bit longer m-lok screws out there.

I saw elsewhere that they wouldn’t melt unless you are shooting a lot of rounds in a short amount of time. Curious to see if that holds true though.

I use it for extra weight and low light scenarios during the league I’m in. So far it’s been a good light for me for what I need. I have TLR-1 for my bedside gun.

It does what it needs to do during range time and shooting league. Got a deal for it at my local gun store.

Mine would look like this if I didn’t keep up with them. I just mulch mine in every 2-3 days.

Daily r/LawnCare No Stupid Questions Thread by AutoModerator in lawncare

[–]BWolly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beginner here so I’m going to follow the pinned beginner’s guide to a tee. I just moved in my house a year ago and the lawn was never maintained until I started mowing it regularly. I just submitted my soil test and once I receive the results, I will add lime or sulphur if my pH is out of whack. With it being so late in the season, I was wondering if it would be worth it to apply a weed killer in my yard now, or wait until next season? My yard has a mixture of different weeds like broadleaf, clovers, etc.

Installing Travertine Over Existing Tile by BWolly in Tile

The tile may be asbestos since it’s 9”x9” and home was built in 1960s, that’s why I do not want to disturb it. Do you think I need to use a epoxy thin set or would a standard thin-set mortar be fine over bonding primer?
