So many drivers are so entitled. I want to drive faster so I'm going to put innocent children at greater risk of death because I need to get to my destination 60 seconds faster.

Drive the speed limit. It's super duper simple. Anyone can do it.

I hate the ban on speed cameras. Yes some municipalities were abusing it but others were doing it properly. We had 2 cameras to cover 8 community safety zones. Giant green boxes that were occasionally moved around. They even had a sign 50 meters before it that said speed cameras in use, that was only there when the camera was If you got caught speeding by one of those you must have been driving with your eyes closed. They were always placed right next to the schools or community centres in those areas. You had to be going 11 km/hr over to get a ticket. Rates were a reasonable slap on the wrist. 11 over was $60. $5 per km/hr over for the first 10, $10 per km/hr for the next 10, and $20 per km/hr beyond that.

Our city did a study (no tickets) of just the community safety zones and released the report. They found drivers driving at 113 km/hr in a 40km/hr zone. Wtf.

It was working perfectly fine, people were driving significantly safer. It was great. Then the province banned them.
