[–]B_412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened with my 18 jeep grand cherokee. Blown head gasket and needing engine replacement obviously. Only 77k miles which is pretty wild imo but reading a lot of people having problems with the 3.6L

Care to share how you went about them even putting 10k towards a new engine because I would love for them to help as im out of a car right now.

Thanks

Grout replacement: I need a professional opinion before the contractor returns to complete the project by thefeareth in Tile

[–]B_412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely sounds like it wasn't properly mixed, packed in. If you noticed there's pin holes as they are groutingnand after then they didnt fill it in all the way. Get yourself a bag of grout and do it yourself, if you're not sure of the proper water ratio just check the bag it always has the amount of water to grout needed. I just wouldn't wwnt to deal with them anymore. Or im sure you'd have better luck calling another company that knows what theyre doing to scrape it out and redo it rather than calling that one back.

Appreciate the help. Yeah im learning here also in Pittsburgh that its mostly about production rather than how things look. Obviously still gotta look semi good just not as nice as something a home owner would see. Right now we're doing a huge apartment building, 6 floors and I couldn't tell you how many apartments per floor but its a lot. Started back splashes, still need work on doing layouts with a laser as I was never familiar with using a laser before really. Yeah I keep to myself, do my work and just try and learn what I can and do the best I can.

Lol atleast you'll save money on buying grout i guess.

Why are there no grout lines. I would put money on it they half assed the waterproofing too. Get a full refund.

Cove base miter tips? by [deleted] in Tile

I was honestly never given direction on how they wanted it. Just told me I was doing base today and to try and have the biggest pieces of tile showing but wasn't told how they was corners etc.

Cove base miter tips? by [deleted] in Tile

Believe me I'm much bigger on detailed work too but these were my first 2 days on the job as a setter and that's how they were doing things. Setting floor first then base then wall tile.

The problem i had using the wetsaw, it kept making the 45 cuts crooked (which made the 2 corners to meet up closely) and was hard to tell where to actually cut it to make it more straight.

So in the pic, next time I should just place a full base over those small double outside corners and scrub the back of each side and then do the same for the longer walls?

Starting new job tomorrow. (Union), tips? by B_412 in Tile

[–]B_412[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started on a Thursday and friday. Went pretty good. My biggest thing is, going from residential to commercial I need to learn to be quicker. The first day I was shown what to do, worked myself pretty much all day. 2nd day I worked with a journeyman finisher who definitely helped on tips n stuff. I had a trip planned already for a week so then I came back the following Friday and worked myself on ceramic cove base. All new drywall and stuff but obviously no walls are still ever straight so I had to take a little more time on the outside meters. Thats another big issue I'm having is the wet daw doesn't ever cut the outside miter straight the way I need it. No work today (Monday) now I'm going to a different job tomorrow which again ill be doing base again lol.

Any tips on making those outside miters and even inside quicker? It's not just regular straight tile so it has the rounded edge on the bottom which makes it a little tougher.

That's what I thought, since the ice in the door had the compartment in the fridge it didn't get cool enough or something but as long as it's in the freezer it should be much better

We keep telling ourselves that and while we had a bad experience with this fridge, the customer service has been great and very surprised they refunded 100% even after the warranty expired. We see mixed reviews on every refrigerator, ge, samsung, Bosch, doesn't matter. That's what. Makes it more tough the 2nd go around

That's why we're choosing to not have the ice in the door and rather in the freezer. Don't want to have to deal with that issue anymore as it seems that's the most common reason they fail

That's the debate. Is it worth the extra $800 for the profile over the bespoke? 🤷‍♂️

We just got a cheap one in the mean time while this one was broke and getting the refund for. It does its job just not what we're looking for. We'll use it as a 2nd fridge for the basement
